The Ardent Gardener Landscape DesignA significant back garden remodel in North Ogden, Utah. Local sandstone ties a big project together, with blond sandstone garden walls, patio, bridges, fireplace, fire pit and patio. Concrete patios have stone ribbons. Pushing back brambles and capturing groundwater allowed this space to triple in size. It's now a parklike setting providing a serene retreat for this family. Bronze scuppers built into a stone garden wall make for a unique water feature, and is visible from most parts of the garden and the back of the home. Fireplace separates two outdoor spaces, creating 'rooms'. Lush planting complete the picture.

This layered container garden is a plethora of different specimen plants- both flowering and evergreen, which provide for brilliant contrasting textures as well as a greater sense of depth.

7j Design, OttawaThis 1980’s 2 Storey house with siding and brick was updated by Galvalume, Hardy board Panels and Marine grade Plywood. Landscaping at the front of the house done to reflect the updated exterior of the home. Planters were cladded with galvanized Aluminum. The planters were created at several different heights and were grouped together for very minimal effect to the landscape. Linear grey stones were used to stretch the space. The shapes created by the stones and the planters were filled with a combination of grey and white small gravel. Lighting was done to reflect the architecture and to highlight the shrubbery. Kraft Custom ConstructionAfter completing an interior remodel for this mid-century home in the South Salem hills, we revived the old, rundown backyard and transformed it into an outdoor living room that reflects the openness of the new interior living space. We tied the outside and inside together to create a cohesive connection between the two. The yard was spread out with multiple elevations and tiers, which we used to create “outdoor rooms” with separate seating, eating and gardening areas that flowed seamlessly from one to another. We installed a fire pit in the seating area; built-in pizza oven, wok and bar-b-que in the outdoor kitchen; and a soaking tub on the lower deck. The concrete dining table doubled as a ping-pong table and required a boom truck to lift the pieces over the house and into the backyard. The result is an outdoor sanctuary the homeowners can effortlessly enjoy year-round.

This beautiful outdoor space in Santa Barbara is highlighted with our custom colored Greek pottery. Fair hand picked each planter and oversaw the custom coloring to create this rustic-chic design.
