RenovisionsTurning an outdated bath into a retreat master bath suit was what these homeowners envisioned. Having two shower heads and separate marble shelves and seats is a convenience they both enjoy. They particularly adored the “worn oak vinyl flooring” by Amtico which looked just like wood without the maintenance. The custom vanity and linen tower cabinetry was custom cherry with a mocha finish and was a stunning contrast to the neutral tile and all wood bead board that created a resort-like feel for the customers.
Installation of Bead Board has been a popular request from many customers. The attention to detail in our signature bead board millwork and trim really makes a difference in the overall quality of the project.

This charming little attic bath was an infrequently used guest bath located on the 3rd floor right above the master bath that we were also remodeling. The beautiful original leaded glass windows open to a view of the park and small lake across the street. A vintage claw foot tub sat directly below the window. This is where the charm ended though as everything was sorely in need of updating. From the pieced-together wall cladding to the exposed electrical wiring and old galvanized plumbing, it was in definite need of a gut job. Plus the hardwood flooring leaked into the bathroom below which was priority one to fix. Once we gutted the space, we got to rebuilding the room. We wanted to keep the cottage-y charm, so we started with simple white herringbone marble tile on the floor and clad all the walls with soft white shiplap paneling. A new clawfoot tub/shower under the original window was added. Next, to allow for a larger vanity with more storage, we moved the toilet over and eliminated a mish mash of storage pieces. We discovered that with separate hot/cold supplies that were the only thing available for a claw foot tub with a shower kit, building codes require a pressure balance valve to prevent scalding, so we had to install a remote valve. We learn something new on every job! There is a view to the park across the street through the home’s original custom shuttered windows. Can’t you just smell the fresh air? We found a vintage dresser and had it lacquered in high gloss black and converted it into a vanity. The clawfoot tub was also painted black. Brass lighting, plumbing and hardware details add warmth to the room, which feels right at home in the attic of this traditional home. We love how the combination of traditional and charming come together in this sweet attic guest bath. Truly a room with a view!

Kitchen Design ConceptsThis bold jack and jill bathroom centers around the color black making a statement piece out of this entire room. Faucets, accessories, and shower fixtures are from Kohler's Purist collection in Matte Black. The commode, also from Kohler, is a One-Piece from the Santa Rosa collection, making it easy to keep clean. Floor tile is White Thassos Honed from Marble Systems. The main wall surround tile and matching pencil liners came from Daltile - their Antico Scuro Honed material. Wall tile is an 8x36 plank-style set in a brick lay. The accent wall in the shower is from Renaissance Tile, as well as teh shower floor and liners. White Thassos is used on the floor, while a White Thassos Cheveron pattern with Sand Dollar strips (mosaic) in White polished covers the accent wall. A clear glass shower entry with black clamps and hardware lets you see the design without sacrifice.
smarterBATHROOMS+The downstairs bathroom the clients were wanting a space that could house a freestanding bath at the end of the space, a larger shower space and a custom- made cabinet that was made to look like a piece of furniture. A nib wall was created in the space offering a ledge as a form of storage. The reference of black cabinetry links back to the kitchen and the upstairs bathroom, whilst the consistency of the classic look was again shown through the use of subway tiles and patterned floors.
Design Theory Interiors, LLCThis master bath reflects the owner's love of old glamorous hotels with a fresh modern take. Cabinets are custom designed in a blue glossy lacquered finish with a 6" quartz countertop. Gold Faucets and cabinet pulls add a luxurious accent. Tiles in shower and on vanity wall are a mod interpretation of black and white marble with an inset of a giraffe print on the shower wall.
