Whitecross Street is our renovation and rooftop extension of a former Victorian industrial building in East London, previously used by Rolling Stones Guitarist Ronnie Wood as his painting Studio. Our renovation transformed it into a luxury, three bedroom / two and a half bathroom city apartment with an art gallery on the ground floor and an expansive roof terrace above.

The deck functions as an additional ‘outdoor room’, extending the living areas out into this beautiful Canberra garden. We designed the deck around existing deciduous trees, maintaining the canopy and protecting the windows and deck from hot summer sun.

Architect Trevor Morris was keen to “reference the music” in the aesthetics of the project build, as well as bring as much natural daylight into the building as possible to create a feeling of openness throughout.
