Windhill BuildersWe gave this rather dated farmhouse some dramatic upgrades that brought together the feminine with the masculine, combining rustic wood with softer elements. In terms of style her tastes leaned toward traditional and elegant and his toward the rustic and outdoorsy. The result was the perfect fit for this family of 4 plus 2 dogs and their very special farmhouse in Ipswich, MA. Character details create a visual statement, showcasing the melding of both rustic and traditional elements without too much formality. The new master suite is one of the most potent examples of the blending of styles. The bath, with white carrara honed marble countertops and backsplash, beaded wainscoting, matching pale green vanities with make-up table offset by the black center cabinet expand function of the space exquisitely while the salvaged rustic beams create an eye-catching contrast that picks up on the earthy tones of the wood. The luxurious walk-in shower drenched in white carrara floor and wall tile replaced the obsolete Jacuzzi tub. Wardrobe care and organization is a joy in the massive walk-in closet complete with custom gliding library ladder to access the additional storage above. The space serves double duty as a peaceful laundry room complete with roll-out ironing center. The cozy reading nook now graces the bay-window-with-a-view and storage abounds with a surplus of built-ins including bookcases and in-home entertainment center. You can’t help but feel pampered the moment you step into this ensuite. The pantry, with its painted barn door, slate floor, custom shelving and black walnut countertop provide much needed storage designed to fit the family’s needs precisely, including a pull out bin for dog food. During this phase of the project, the powder room was relocated and treated to a reclaimed wood vanity with reclaimed white oak countertop along with custom vessel soapstone sink and wide board paneling. Design elements effectively married rustic and traditional styles and the home now has the character to match the country setting and the improved layout and storage the family so desperately needed. Shenton Architects LLPThe design of this four bedroom Upper West Side apartment involved the complete renovation of one half of the unit and the remodeling of the other half.
The main living space includes a foyer, lounge, library, kitchen and island. The library can be converted into the fourth bedroom by deploying a series of sliding/folding glass doors together with a pivoting wall panel to separate it from the rest of the living area. The kitchen is delineated as a special space within the open floor plan by virtue of a folded wooden volume around the island - inviting casual congregation and dining.
All three bathrooms were designed with a common language of modern finishes and fixtures, with functional variations depending on their location within the apartment. New closets serve each bedroom as well as the foyer and lounge spaces.
Materials are kept to a limited palette of dark stained wood flooring, American Walnut for bathroom vanities and the kitchen island, white gloss and lacquer finish cabinetry, and translucent glass door panelling with natural anodized aluminum trim. Lightly veined carrara marble lines the bathroom floors and walls.

Matarozzi Pelsinger BuildersOriginally built in 1929 and designed by famed architect Albert Farr who was responsible for the Wolf House that was built for Jack London in Glen Ellen, this building has always had tremendous historical significance. In keeping with tradition, the new design incorporates intricate plaster crown moulding details throughout with a splash of contemporary finishes lining the corridors. From venetian plaster finishes to German engineered wood flooring this house exhibits a delightful mix of traditional and contemporary styles. Many of the rooms contain reclaimed wood paneling, discretely faux-finished Trufig outlets and a completely integrated Savant Home Automation system. Equipped with radiant flooring and forced air-conditioning on the upper floors as well as a full fitness, sauna and spa recreation center at the basement level, this home truly contains all the amenities of modern-day living. The primary suite area is outfitted with floor to ceiling Calacatta stone with an uninterrupted view of the Golden Gate bridge from the bathtub. This building is a truly iconic and revitalized space.
Delaney's DesignA complete renovation of this master bathroom took it from old, dated and damaged to a sophisticated and elegant spa-like retreat! Marble tile installed in a herringbone pattern set the tone for elegance. Lovely pedestal tub, copper sinks, unique lighting and plumbing fixtures add unexpected details.
The Preservation Collaborative, Inc.A custom shower stall was provided in this bathroom. The angle matches the exterior wall and the stall is extra large to give the owner extra space within. A built-in seat and alcove were necessary features and were built into the design early on. The owner provided the three-part shower head which includes a rain feature to mimic the waterfall tiles.

Nous avons repris ici les détails Art déco de la pièce à vivre : les moulures sur les plinthes, les encadrements d’ouvertures (cette fois réalisées en marbre) et les corniches en plafond.
Le marbre et le bronze, très présents dans cette salle de bain, apportent raffinement et un caractère « luxueux » assez marqué. La vasque, en marbre Emperador, est mise en valeur grâce à une conception symétrique des aménagements attenants et une couleur plus prononcée.
Tous les éléments métalliques de la pièce ont été choisis en bronze pour une parfaite harmonie d'ensemble : appareillages Meljac, robinetterie Dornbracht, sèche-serviette, bâton de maréchal de la porte, encadrement de miroir…
