The sea pearl quartzite transitioned into the master bathroom with a spa-like shower and were able to create a space that feels clean and spacious. Cabinets were custom built by Chandler in a shaker style with narrow 2" recessed panel and painted in a sherwin williams paint called silverplate in eggshell finish. The hardware was ordered through topknobs in the pennington style, various sizes used.

A new bathroom was designed using the same space, and allowing for a larger curbless shower, two generous sink vanities and a linen cabinet. The new shower is spacious and refreshing, with tall ceilings, frameless glass walls, a curb-less and door-less entry and a barely noticeable infinity drain all adding to the openness. A bench seat was integrated into the quartz countertop wrap of the cabinets, seamlessly integrating the shower and cabinets into one cohesive space, and heat in the tile floor was also run into the bench seat to keep it warm and comfortable

The goal of Pineapple House designers was to stay within existing footprint while improving the look, storage capabilities and functionality of the master bath. Along the right wall, they replace the existing tub with a freestanding Roman soaking tub. Glass shower walls lets natural light illuminate the formerly dark, enclosed corner shower. Along the left wall, a new double-sink vanity has hidden storage in tall, slender doors that are configured to mimic columns. The central section of the long vanity has a make-up drawer and more storage behind the mirror. Along the back wall, a custom unit houses a television that intentionally blends into the deep coloration of the millwork. An under counter refrigerator is located in the lower left portion of unit. A traditional master bath features gorgeous deep woods and classic candle sconce lighting. The heavy use of traditional elements now contrasts with more current design features, such as the herringbone patterned flooring, marble accents, and mosaic shower tiling. Project designed by Courtney Thomas Design in La Cañada. Serving Pasadena, Glendale, Monrovia, San Marino, Sierra Madre, South Pasadena, and Altadena.
