Maraya Interior DesignNew Moroccan Villa on the Santa Barbara Riviera, overlooking the Pacific ocean and the city. In this terra cotta and deep blue home, we used natural stone mosaics and glass mosaics, along with custom carved stone columns. Every room is colorful with deep, rich colors. In the master bath we used blue stone mosaics on the groin vaulted ceiling of the shower. All the lighting was designed and made in Marrakesh, as were many furniture pieces. The entry black and white columns are also imported from Morocco. We also designed the carved doors and had them made in Marrakesh. Cabinetry doors we designed were carved in Canada. The carved plaster molding were made especially for us, and all was shipped in a large container (just before covid-19 hit the shipping world!) Thank you to our wonderful craftsman and enthusiastic vendors!

Tiled the bathroom floor herringbone-style with marble. A new vanity with ample storage completes the space.

L/L Design - Build - FurnishOur client had a good size master restroom, but the lack of "space" was the big issue, as the shower was so small, yet there was so much "blank air space" that we took advantage of. We expanded the shower, added a linen cabinet and hamper space, gave them a larger functioning vanity with more drawer space, and a compact soaking tub that is cute but totally usable.
The entire family is happy, including the cat!
Studio InSitu ArchitectsThe best features of this loft were formerly obscured by its worst. While the apartment has a rich history—it’s located in a former bike factory, it lacked a cohesive floor plan that allowed any substantive living space.
A retired teacher rented out the loft for 10 years before an unexpected fire in a lower apartment necessitated a full building overhaul. He jumped at the chance to renovate the apartment and asked InSitu to design a remodel to improve how it functioned and elevate the interior. We created a plan that reorganizes the kitchen and dining spaces, integrates abundant storage, and weaves in an understated material palette that better highlights the space’s cool industrial character.

Lotus Home ImprovementMajor changes to this bathroom layout resulted in a stunning bathroom remodel created by Lotus Home Improvement.
12/12 Architects & PlannersThis small 3/4 bath was added in the space of a large entry way of this ranch house, with the bath door immediately off the master bedroom. At only 39sf, the 3'x8' space houses the toilet and sink on opposite walls, with a 3'x4' alcove shower adjacent to the sink. The key to making a small space feel large is avoiding clutter, and increasing the feeling of height - so a floating vanity cabinet was selected, with a built-in medicine cabinet above. A wall-mounted storage cabinet was added over the toilet, with hooks for towels. The shower curtain at the shower is changed with the whims and design style of the homeowner, and allows for easy cleaning with a simple toss in the washing machine.

Removal of existing tile floor and floated with a self leveling compound. Replacement of all existing plumbing and electrical rough-in to make ready for new fixtures. Installation of fiberglass shower pan and installation of new water proof vinyl wall tile in shower. Installation of new waterproof laminate flooring, wall wainscot and door trim. Hercules Design BuildThe original marble in the hall bath shower/tub was salvaged and reused. A new wall was constructed on the vanity end of the tub, and this is where the updated plumbing was installed. The wall was finished in a new tile that compliments other existing elements. Chrome corner baskets were added for convenient storage.
