Natural walnut cabinetry brings warmth balanced by the subtle movement in the warm gray floor and wall tiles and the white quartz counters and shower surround. We created half walls framing the shower topped with quartz and glass treated for easy maintenance. The angled wall and extra square footage in the water closet were eliminated for a larger vanity.
Floating vanities make the space feel larger and fit the modern aesthetic. The tall pullout storage at her vanity is one-sided to prevent items falling out the back and features shelves with acrylic sides for full product visibility.
We removed the tub deck and bump-out walls with inset shelves for improved flow and wall space for towels.
Now the freestanding tub anchors the middle of the room while allowing easy access to the windows that were blocked by the previous built-in.
Luka DesignEn esta bonita vivienda situada en Cardedeu realizamos la reforma de uno de los baños. El cliente quería reformarlo completamente y hacer cambio de bañera por plato de ducha. El principal objetivo, tener sensación de amplitud. Decidimos prescindir del bidet y así ganar mucho más espacio para instalar el plato de ducha y un mueble con dos cajones para que todo sus accesorios quedarán bien ordenados. Diseñamos tres estanterías de madera que a demás de ser decorativas te permite colocar cestas para tener todo mejor ordenado.
La estantería superior es más profunda para almacenar toallas y para hacer el estante más liguero se diseñó con listones separados, un verdadero acierto. El espejo es alargado y con iluminación integrada, aportando un toque de modernidad. El sanitario es empotrado a pared y compacto para ganar el máximo de espacio posible. Por último está la mampara y la elección del alicatado de pared y pavimento. La mampara se escogió con puertas correderas en las esquinas y de color cromado negro a juego con el resto de la grifería.
Para el alicatado de pared nos decantamos por dos tonalidades, un tono gris claro con un veteado blanco sutil que da un ambiente elegante y tiene continuidad en el pavimento. Por el contrario, en la pared de la zona de aguas, la ducha, se escogieron piezas alargadas de color blanco brillo con una textura irregular para aportar volumen y modernidad.
Las claves del éxito del proyecto radica en el orden, la limpieza y los pequeños detalles. Un baño pequeño también puede rebosar estilo y modernidad.

Projet Wabi-sabiUne belle et grande maison de l’Île Saint Denis, en bord de Seine. Ce qui aura constitué l’un de mes plus gros défis ! Madame aime le pop, le rose, le batik, les 50’s-60’s-70’s, elle est tendre, romantique et tient à quelques références qui ont construit ses souvenirs de maman et d’amoureuse. Monsieur lui, aime le minimalisme, le minéral, l’art déco et les couleurs froides (et le rose aussi quand même!). Tous deux aiment les chats, les plantes, le rock, rire et voyager. Ils sont drôles, accueillants, généreux, (très) patients mais (super) perfectionnistes et parfois difficiles à mettre d’accord ?
Et voilà le résultat : un mix and match de folie, loin de mes codes habituels et du Wabi-sabi pur et dur, mais dans lequel on retrouve l’essence absolue de cette démarche esthétique japonaise : donner leur chance aux objets du passé, respecter les vibrations, les émotions et l’intime conviction, ne pas chercher à copier ou à être « tendance » mais au contraire, ne jamais oublier que nous sommes des êtres uniques qui avons le droit de vivre dans un lieu unique. Que ce lieu est rare et inédit parce que nous l’avons façonné pièce par pièce, objet par objet, motif par motif, accord après accord, à notre image et selon notre cœur. Cette maison de bord de Seine peuplée de trouvailles vintage et d’icônes du design respire la bonne humeur et la complémentarité de ce couple de clients merveilleux qui resteront des amis. Lenton Company, Inc.This spacious primary bathroom transformed from drab and dark to a refreshed, bright bathroom. Simply removing the dropped ceiling and fluorescent lights from the vanity area and replacing them with modern recessed can light brought this bathroom back to life. The carpet that once draped the floor was replaced by a gray wood-like vinyl plank which transitioned beautifully to the calcatta tiled shower. The dated vanity that once housed two sinks was updated to white custom-made cabinetry topped with a white with subtle veining Arabescato quartz countertop. A linen closet replaced the second vanity sink, providing ample storage space. Polished nickel finishes repeat about from the Hydrorail shower fixtures to the sink faucets. Two contemporary sconce lights a stylish mirror balance and adorns the focal wall. To create harmony within the bathroom and the rest of the house, we kept contrast to a minimum, using hints of color to create accents.

To highlight the vaulted ceiling, we extended the shower tile to the ceiling and added a skylight to bathe the area in natural light.
Sourced unique marble with raw, chiseled edges that provide a tactile, earthy element.
Our custom-designed cabinetry in a minimal, modern style features a natural finish, complementing the organic theme.
A truly creative layered lighting strategy dials in the perfect Zen-like atmosphere. The wavy protruding wall tile lights triggered our inspiration but came with an unintended harsh direct-light effect so we sourced a solution: bespoke diffusers measured and cut for the top and bottom of each tile light gap.
