Old California Mission Style home remodeled from funky 1970's cottage with no style. Now this looks like a real old world home that fits right into the Ojai, California landscape. Handmade custom sized terra cotta tiles throughout, with dark stain and wax makes for a worn, used and real live texture from long ago. Wrought iron Spanish lighting, new glass doors and wood windows to capture the light and bright valley sun. The owners are from India, so we incorporated Indian designs and antiques where possible. An outdoor shower, and an outdoor hallway are new additions, along with the olive tree, craned in over the new roof. A courtyard with Spanish style outdoor fireplace with Indian overtones border the exterior of the courtyard. Distressed, stained and glazed ceiling beams, handmade doors and cabinetry help give an old world feel.

Powder room turned guest bath. Borrowed 2 1/2 feet from adjacent room to make space for a 72" soaker tub, new furniture vanity with golden travertine top and custom designed backsplash. Oval mirror flanked by bohemian style lights, a luster stone wall finish and precious stones placed in metal accents make this one of our favorite spaces!

Vertical tile in the shower and floor bring in the colors of the desert accented by plum walls. Bronze hardware on the vanity and fixtures give a rustic look and feel to this spacious bath. The half-wall and glass shower door open up the room.

Atop of the console is a simple stark faucet lever set. Here, less is more; crispness defines elegance. Aligned with this simplicity are the frameless mirrors held in place with small square polished chrome clips. On either side of these linear mirrors are poised tube-like cylindrical sconces. Here, curves create counterpoints to rectilinear lines.

A view of the master bath showing the curbless open double shower and locally made cherry cabinets. Travertine wall tile and matching vein cut slab, and a marble herringbone tile floor help make this a special place.
