Malibu Tile is dominant in this luxury home overlooking the Ojai Valley. Exposed beam ceilings of old scraped wood, trusses with planked ceilings and wrought iron stair cases with tiled risers. Arches are everywhere, from the master bath to the bedroom bed niches to the carved wood doors. Thick plaster walls with deep niches and thick window sills give a cool look to this old Spanish home in the warm, dry climate. The large shower has fittings on opposite ends. It has marble walls and floors. Since marble is traditional material, our designer included horizontal bands of thin chrome trim to add a modern touch. Another modern touch? Ice blue glass tile accent. The long drain is modern, and is located to one side so it’s not underfoot.
The reason for the open plan was to maintain natural light throughout the attic. However, the bathroom was a challenge because it has privacy walls. Our designer opted to use continuous clerestory glass panels that wrap around the corner of the bathroom enclosure. These custom glass pieces allow light to flow from the dormers and skylight into the bathroom.

Ethos InteriorsThe main bathroom was kept as open as possible with a walk in shower, opposite a free standing tub. A floating vanity was used to keep the space feeling larger, and was paired with wall mounted taps. A quirky pear shaped mirror and globe were the finishing touches for this fun kid-friendly bathroom.
MC Design LLCThis amazing blue agate was custom made in Romania and has hand-applied gold leaf that looks amazing and feels even better! It is back-lit to act as the perfect night light.

For the rest of the bathroom, faux wood plank tiles floors, a dark wooden Wyndham vanity with marble countertops and chrome faucets was installed along with two matching mirrors.

The DesignersThis beautiful shower displays a body shower and rain shower in a luxurious curved glass shower. The teal bench weathers to it's natural grey and the porcelain grey and white tile is a perfect compliment. The slate blue mosaic tile accents the room In a geometric design. Adding the Plantation Shutters and the Charleston Forge pedestal that supports a Boston fern that loves the humidity are the perfect touch.
