Feature In: Visit Miami Beach Magazine & Island Living A nice young couple contacted us from Brazil to decorate their newly acquired apartment. We schedule a meeting through Skype and from the very first moment we had a very good feeling this was going to be a nice project and people to work with. We exchanged some ideas, comments, images and we explained to them how we were used to worked with clients overseas and how important was to keep communication opened. They main concerned was to find a solution for a giant structure leaning column in the main room, as well as how to make the kitchen, dining and living room work together in one considerably small space with few dimensions. Whether it was a holiday home or a place to rent occasionally, the requirements were simple, Scandinavian style, accent colors and low investment, and so we did it. Once the proposal was signed, we got down to work and in two months the apartment was ready to welcome them with nice scented candles, flowers and delicious Mojitos from their spectacular view at the 41th floor of one of Miami's most modern and tallest building. We carefully sited the bathroom beneath the shade of the surrounding Olive and Fig trees to keep the space cool, preventing the Trobolo compostable loo from overheating. To the left you can see the afternoon sun breaking through the trees. The way the four different natural materials (three timber, 1 stone) respond to light is encapsulating.

A few years ago we completed the kitchen renovation on this wonderfully maintained Arts and Crafts home, dating back to the 1930’s. Naturally, we were very pleased to be entrusted with the client’s vision for the renovation of the main bathroom, which was to remain true to its origins, yet encompassing modern touches of today. This was achieved with patterned floor tiles and a pedestal basin. The client selected beautiful tapware from Perrin and Rowe to complement the period. The frameless shower screen, freestanding bath plus the ceramic white wall tile provides an open, bright “feel” we are all looking for in our bathrooms today. Our client also had a passion for Art Deco and personally designed a Shaving Cabinet which Impala created from blackwood veneer. This is a great representation of how Impala working with its clients makes a house a home. Photos: Archetype Photography

Despite its small size, the bathroom has everything to please. The combination of Lick's "Red 03" coral paint, glossy white tiles and brushed brass details make it a real eye-catcher!

This bathroom could be described as similar in size and functionality to millions of other bathrooms out there but is defined by it's bold use of color and print found in the wallpaper.
