This coastal inspired bathroom hits the reset button in a fresh and modern way. Out with the travertine and white tile countertops, in with white, light greys and blues, complimented by beautiful bamboo wood tones. A mosaic leaf tile glitters as the backsplash and accent niche areas. Swaths of marble like large format tile wrap the shower and tub area. Stainless steel fixtures, frameless glass enclosure, and a crystal chandelier reflect light around the room.

Nestled amongst Queenslanders and large contemporary homes in a suburb of Brisbane, is a modest, mid-century modern home.
The much-loved home of a professional couple, it features large, low windows and interiors that have lost their way over time. Bella Vie Interiors worked with Boutique Bathrooms Brisbane to redesign the bathroom and give it a true sense of identity.
The result is a light, functional bathroom that blends seamlessly with the Mid-Century Modern aesthetic of the home.

The bold colour choice create a relaxing space with a unique style and elegance that is both classic and contemporary. Shimmering blue glass mosaic is the main feature of the room paired with the contrasting large grey porcelain tile made to look like natural stone. A custom designed vanity by MAJ Interiors utilizes every available inch for storage including above the toilet. Introducing elements such as a towel bar on the glass door is another clever introduction of functionality within a small bathroom space. Carrying the countertop below the storage above the toilet and behind the mirror connects all the separate elements creating one whole unit. A textured black floor relates to the texture of the glass mosaic tile along the top perimeter of the room, creating a rich layering of beautifully chosen materials within this scheme of uncluttered simplicity.

This 1974 kids’ bath had no natural light, little storage and was cramped with a layout in the typical of the 1970’s. It was definitely time for an update; one that included expanding the space. Adding 5’ to the width, gave enough room for the shower and tub to be separated, a water closet that also included a floor-to-ceiling linen closet and an extra-long vanity with double sinks that included increased storage drawers. The use of dimensional tile adds whimsy and interest to this kids’ bath.
