Maraya Interior DesignOld World European, Country Cottage. Three separate cottages make up this secluded village over looking a private lake in an old German, English, and French stone villa style. Hand scraped arched trusses, wide width random walnut plank flooring, distressed dark stained raised panel cabinetry, and hand carved moldings make these traditional farmhouse cottage buildings look like they have been here for 100s of years. Newly built of old materials, and old traditional building methods, including arched planked doors, leathered stone counter tops, stone entry, wrought iron straps, and metal beam straps. The Lake House is the first, a Tudor style cottage with a slate roof, 2 bedrooms, view filled living room open to the dining area, all overlooking the lake. The Carriage Home fills in when the kids come home to visit, and holds the garage for the whole idyllic village. This cottage features 2 bedrooms with on suite baths, a large open kitchen, and an warm, comfortable and inviting great room. All overlooking the lake. The third structure is the Wheel House, running a real wonderful old water wheel, and features a private suite upstairs, and a work space downstairs. All homes are slightly different in materials and color, including a few with old terra cotta roofing. Project Location: Ojai, California. Project designed by Maraya Interior Design. Bella DesignsThis master bathroom was completely remodeled to enlarge the shower, add more cabinet space and update the look. Decorative tiles were added to add style, sconces to add warmth, and niches to add bath products.
Riverside Construction, LLCIn the primary bathroom, we reconfigured the shower area to lower the ceiling. The clients still wanted no shower door, but by lowering the ceiling, we were able to keep the steam from escaping as quickly as it did before, thus providing a solution to the cold showers. Both vanities were updated to a floating style, with quartz countertops and new Delta fixtures in Champagne Bronze. Extra storage wasn’t necessary around the vanities because we doubled the size of the bathroom’s linen closet to both fill the space and function with the new shower shape.
The two-sided fireplace got a facelift too, with all-new contemporary tile running from floor to ceiling, accentuating the 12’ ceilings. Accent tile in 12×24 Anatolia Mayfair Strada Ash was featured on both the fireplace and the shower walls. To continue the contemporary feel, a new freestanding tub was installed in front of the fireplace with a floor-mounted tub filler.
The entire bathroom floor was re-tiled with heat coils running through it, with large format tiles set on a diagonal echoing the diagonal fireplace wall. A candle-style chandelier added even more elegance.
Teakwood Builders, Inc.A clean, contemporary, spa-like master bathroom was on the list for this new construction home. The floating double vanity and linen storage feature sealed and varnished plank sap walnut doors with the horizontal grain matching end to end, contrasting with the dark gray tile throughout. The freestanding soaking tub is constructed of blue-stone, a composite of quartzite and bio-resin that is durable, anti-microbial, eco-friendly, and feels like natural stone. The expansive shower is adorned with modern Milano fixtures and integrated lighting for a true luxurious experience. This is appealing to the professional who desires a Pacific West Coast feel in Upstate NY
