The walk-in shower features gorgeous hardware, a built-in shelving area, and a corner bench enclosed in glass. The glass helps both the shower and the bathroom seem larger.

The guest bath received a partial black and white update. The shower was in great shape so we chose to keep it and switch the fixtures to matte black. The floor received a patterned tile and a new white vanity cleaned up the space. A matte black metal framed mirror and shelving unit complete the look.

Sophisticated and fun were the themes in this design. This bathroom is used by three young children. The parents wanted a bathroom whose decor would be fun for the children, but "not a kiddy bathroom". This family travels to the beach quite often, so they wanted a beach resort (emphasis on resort) influence in the design. Storage of toiletries & medications, as well as a place to hang a multitude of towels, were the primary goals. Besides meeting the storage goals, the bathroom needed to be brightened and needed better lighting. Ocean-inspired blue & white wallpaper was paired with bright orange, Moroccan-inspired floor & accent tiles from Fireclay Tile to give the "resort" look the clients were looking for. Light fixtures with industrial style accents add additional interest, while a seagrass mirror adds texture & warmth. Photos: Christy Kosnic

This 1974 kids’ bath had no natural light, little storage and was cramped with a layout in the typical of the 1970’s. It was definitely time for an update; one that included expanding the space. Adding 5’ to the width, gave enough room for the shower and tub to be separated, a water closet that also included a floor-to-ceiling linen closet and an extra-long vanity with double sinks that included increased storage drawers. The use of dimensional tile adds whimsy and interest to this kids’ bath. Clarity Northwest Photography: Matthew Gallant

A small guest bath in this Lakewood mid century was updated to be much more user friendly but remain true to the aesthetic of the home. A custom wall-hung walnut vanity with linear asymmetrical holly inlays sits beneath a custom blue concrete sinktop. The entire vanity wall and shower is tiled in a unique textured Porcelanosa tile in white. Tim Gormley, TG Image

A kitchen and bath remodel we worked on for this clients’ newly purchased home. The previously dated interior now showcases a refreshing, bright, and spacious design! The clients wanted to stick with traditional fixtures, but bring in doses of fun with color. The kitchen walls were removed to open the space to the living and dining rooms. We added colorful cabinetry and interesting tile to reflect the fun personality of this young family. Designed by Joy Street Design serving Oakland, Berkeley, San Francisco, and the whole of the East Bay.
