Bilotta Kitchen & HomeDesigned by Randy O’Kane of Bilotta Kitchens, the inspiration for this project was an industrial farmhouse-chic look – it’s the theme throughout the client’s whole house. The client (a mother of four, running a busy household) wanted a real oasis for bathing and showering – an escape from reality. She and her husband are the type of people who actually use their tub so that was carefully selected from Victoria + Albert Baths. The existing structure of the original master bathroom included the high vaulted ceiling. Randy decided to add the reclaimed wood beams to give the room shape and bring in more of that farmhouse element. She selected a trough sink from Decolav as a contemporary twist on a horse trough. Even the porcelain floor, selected from Rye Ridge Tile, looks like wood that you would see in a barn. The countertop is Caesartstone’s Calacatta Nuvo honed. The overall palette is a contrasting mix of soothing neutrals and much darker browns and black. All fixtures are in a matte black finish, including the trim on the shower enclosure, providing a nod to the industrial side; the brushed brass lighting touches on the elegant side. The two walls with the chevron tile are really the feature of the room. The Vanity is Bilotta Collection Cabinetry in a 1” thick door in Rift Cut White Oak with Smokey Oak Stain.

By adding this custom floating vanity with a single trough sink and double faucets all of our tasks were completed in crisp elegance! Also the double shower features hansgrohe plumbing fixtures along with a accent wall of waves creating texture and depth to the overall space.

This multi-leveled bathroom has a tub three and a half feet lower than the first floor. The space has been organized to create a progressive journey from the upper wash area, to the lower tub space. The heated stairs, tub slab and green sea tile that wraps around the entire room was inspired by the progressive immersion of the Turkish baths.
Hedger Constructions Pty LtdThis stunning home has been finished to exacting standards and has received widespread recognition for its design, attention to finishing detail and use of innovative fixtures and fittings.
The external finish combines soaring three metre rammed earth walls, ship lapped spotted gum gables, a 250PFC feature perimeter beam and expansive Capral 150 series double glazed windows. These combine to make an outstanding transition into a superb setting. Internally the house has extensive use of solid spotted gum for the cabinetry and 1200 x 600 porcelain tiles in the entrance creating an open feel to the home. Bathrooms and ensuite use travertine tiling and glass to full effect and the open kitchen with travertine stone, links to the living areas but has been designed with functionality in mind. The living area centres around a bespoke fireplace in natural stone on a raised resin buffed concrete hearth. Lighting and electrical fixtures combine cutting-edge technology with energy efficiency and all fixtures are of the latest design and provide practicality of use.
A beautifully landscaped pool is viewed from the living and master bedroom areas and is complimented with a pool house that replicates the features of the main house.

The great thing is that both floor tiles and wall tiles come in a huge variety of sizes, styles, colours and patterns, so you can remodel your room completely with whatever tile choices fit with your bathroom ideas. When it comes to flooring, tiles will be durable, easy to clean and deal well with water, but if you want something different you could go with modern concrete, traditional or country-style treated wooden floorboards, or a bit more quirky bamboo, cork or vinyl. You could choose pale colours and iridescent tiles that reflect the light, keep walls and ceilings the same colour and texture, and use complementary shades throughout the bathroom– fewer contrasts and transitions will help maintain the sense of space.
