Salem NY renovation. Couple expanded current small master bath with a small addition. They gained dual vanities, a free standing tub to look out at their treehouse view, a separate water closet and beautiful walk in shower with seat. with both modern and traditional features, this is now a relaxing and timeless retreat for the couple.

A farmhouse style was achieved in this new construction home by keeping the details clean and simple. Shaker style cabinets and square stair parts moldings set the backdrop for incorporating our clients’ love of Asian antiques. We had fun re-purposing the different pieces she already had: two were made into bathroom vanities; and the turquoise console became the star of the house, welcoming visitors as they walk through the front door.

The layout of this bathroom was reconfigured by locating the new tub on the rear wall, and putting the toilet on the left of the vanity.
The wall on the left of the existing vanity was taken out.

This guest bathroom features white subway tile with black marble accents and a leaded glass window. Black trim and crown molding set off a dark, antique William and Mary highboy and a Calcutta gold and black marble basketweave tile floor. Faux gray and light blue walls lend a clean, crisp feel to the room, compounded by a white pedestal tub and polished nickel faucet.

The newly remodeled hall bath was made more spacious with the addition of a wall-hung toilet. The soffit at the tub was removed, making the space more open and bright. The bold black and white tile and fixtures paired with the green walls matched the homeowners' personality and style.

Light and Airy shiplap bathroom was the dream for this hard working couple. The goal was to totally re-create a space that was both beautiful, that made sense functionally and a place to remind the clients of their vacation time. A peaceful oasis. We knew we wanted to use tile that looks like shiplap. A cost effective way to create a timeless look. By cladding the entire tub shower wall it really looks more like real shiplap planked walls.
The center point of the room is the new window and two new rustic beams. Centered in the beams is the rustic chandelier.

This project was a joy to work on, as we married our firm’s modern design aesthetic with the client’s more traditional and rustic taste. We gave new life to all three bathrooms in her home, making better use of the space in the powder bathroom, optimizing the layout for a brother & sister to share a hall bath, and updating the primary bathroom with a large curbless walk-in shower and luxurious clawfoot tub. Though each bathroom has its own personality, we kept the palette cohesive throughout all three.
Kowalske Kitchen & Bath
Kowalske Kitchen & Bath was hired as the bathroom remodeling contractor for this Delafield master bath and closet. This black and white boho bathrooom has industrial touches and warm wood accents.
The original space was like a labyrinth, with a complicated layout of walls and doors. The homeowners wanted to improve the functionality and modernize the space.
The main entry of the bathroom/closet was a single door that lead to the vanity. Around the left was the closet and around the right was the rest of the bathroom. The bathroom area consisted of two separate closets, a bathtub/shower combo, a small walk-in shower and a toilet.
To fix the choppy layout, we separated the two spaces with separate doors – one to the master closet and one to the bathroom. We installed pocket doors for each doorway to keep a streamlined look and save space.
BLACK & WHITE BOHO BATHROOM
This master bath is a light, airy space with a boho vibe. The couple opted for a large walk-in shower featuring a Dreamline Shower enclosure. Moving the shower to the corner gave us room for a black vanity, quartz counters, two sinks, and plenty of storage and counter space. The toilet is tucked in the far corner behind a half wall.
BOHO DESIGN
The design is contemporary and features black and white finishes. We used a white cararra marble hexagon tile for the backsplash and the shower floor. The Hinkley light fixtures are matte black and chrome. The space is warmed up with luxury vinyl plank wood flooring and a teak shelf in the shower.
HOMEOWNER REVIEW
“Kowalske just finished our master bathroom/closet and left us very satisfied. Within a few weeks of involving Kowalske, they helped us finish our designs and planned out the whole project. Once they started, they finished work before deadlines, were so easy to communicate with, and kept expectations clear. They didn’t leave us wondering when their skilled craftsmen (all of which were professional and great guys) were coming and going or how far away the finish line was, each week was planned. Lastly, the quality of the finished product is second to none and worth every penny. I highly recommend Kowalske.” – Mitch, Facebook Review

This very small bathroom was visually expanded by removing the tub/shower curtain at the end of the room and replacing it with a full-width dual shower/steamshower. A tub-fill spout was installed to serve as a baby tub filler/toddler "shower." The pedestal trough sink was used to open up the floor space, and an art deco cabinet was modified to a minimal depth to hold other bathroom essentials. The medicine cabinet is custom-made, has two receptacles in it, and is 8" deep.
