The new en suite master bathroom was designed with spa like luxury. The floors and walls in the main area of the bath are calacatta marble with a custom designed marble "rug" from Waterworks. The walls of the shower are a glass mosaic.
Reico Kitchen & Bath
Nancy Knickerbocker of Reico Kitchen and Bath in Southern Pines, NC collaborated with Tod Reid to design a transitional styled inspired a primary and guest bathroom featuring Masterpiece and Ultracraft cabinetry.
For the primary bathroom, the vanity cabinets are Masterpiece in the Martel door style in Maple with a Shortbread finish, complimented by Silestone Calacatta Gold countertops. A linen cabinet in Ultracraft in the Avon door style with a Moon Bay finish completes the design.
The primary bathroom also includes a Tile Inc. Glacier Wave Gloss shower wall tile and Bakersfield Pumice bath and shower floor tile.
The guest bathroom vanity cabinets are Masterpiece in the Ganon door style with a Dove White finish complemented with Silestone Miami White countertops. The design also includes Watercolors O'Keefe shower wall tile, Canvas White Subway wall end tile and Bakersfield Pumice bath and shower floor tile.
Both bathrooms feature Kohler plumbing fixtures and accessories.
"I enjoyed working with these clients. They had clear goals for their projects, and I believe we achieved them! In the primary bath, we enlarged the shower by removing a garden tub. Opting for large glass panels highlights the wave tile and creates an open feel. We also replaced the water closet door with a knee wall for privacy and replaced the linen closet with colorful cabinetry, making the space more functional. The tall cabinet on the left now includes two laundry hampers, and the black hardware ties everything together nicely," said Nancy.
"The guest bathroom, located just off the main living area, sees frequent use. We replaced the existing tub/shower combination with a shower only. The watercolor tiles on the back wall steal the show whenever the door is open, adding a beautiful focal point to the space."

Crystal Kitchen + Bath
A beautifully remodeled primary bathroom ensuite inspired by the homeowner’s European travels.
This spacious bathroom was dated and had a cold cave like shower. The homeowner desired a beautiful space with a European feel, like the ones she discovered on her travels to Europe. She also wanted a privacy door separating the bathroom from her bedroom.
The designer opened up the closed off shower by removing the soffit and dark cabinet next to the shower to add glass and let light in. Now the entire room is bright and airy with marble look porcelain tile throughout. The archway was added to frame in the under-mount tub. The double vanity in a soft gray paint and topped with Corian Quartz compliments the marble tile. The new chandelier along with the chrome fixtures add just the right amount of luxury to the room. Now when you come in from the bedroom you are enticed to come in and stay a while in this beautiful space.

For the Master Bathroom, there was previously a large jacuzzi tub and small shower in the corner of the bathroom. We decided to remove the tub and instead create a larger shower and convert the existing shower into an open linen closet with custom wood shelving.
Further our client asked us for the color green in this bathroom. We then looked for a way to highlight the color green without being overpowering and still keeping it light. We went with a 3×12 jade green subway for an accent wall in the shower in a stacked pattern, keeping it contemporary. We also extended the shower niche from side to side to further emphasize this accent wall and to also give maximum storage inside the shower. We then highlighted and balanced out the jade green with a 12×24 marble porcelain tile running the opposite direction and extending outside the shower to give a grandeur and larger feel. We also made sure to wrap glass all the way around the shower and shower bench to open the space more. We also repeated the same shade of green in the vanity and used polished nickel plumbing fixtures and hardware throughout.
