Initially the garden was designed to be a diverse social and leisure space in which the clients could relax away from the noise and business of the nearby main road. After several consultations the garden was re-designed to accommodate all of the above, but also to be used as a private parking place. Due to a lack of budget and the availability of an off site parking space nearby, the design has now evolved and provides a functional space for the clients initial request with a focus on the use of low cost materials used in a creative way to define spaces, maximise social function and provide enclosure. The garden was a finalist in the 2018 Northern Design Awards.
