A single wall in this tiny condo separates the multiple functions of a fully functional home. The open, public area includes a living room, full kitchen, and ample storage, with wall space and lighted cubbies to showcase art and personal items. Bright white walls and a simple color pallete help keep the small space clean and inviting. Photography by Cynthia Lynn Photography

Jesse Young Property & Real Estate Photography - Starting with a loft residence that was originally a church, the home presented an architectural design challenge. The new construction was out of balance and sterile in comparison. The intent of the design was to honor and compliment the existing millwork, plaster walls, and large stained glass windows. Timeless furnishings, custom cabinetry, colorful accents, art and lighting provide the finishing touches, leaving the client thrilled with the results. This design is now worthy of its character.

This house is nestled in the suburbs of Detroit. It is a 1950s two story brick colonial that was in major need of some updates. We kept all of the existing architectural features of this home including cove ceilings, wood floors moldings. I didn't want to take away the style of the home, I just wanted to update it. When I started, the floors were stained almost red, every room had a different color on the walls, and the kitchen and bathrooms hadn't been touched in decades. It was all out of date and out of style. The formal living room is adjacent to the front door and foyer area. The picture window lets in a ton of natural light. The coves, frames and moldings are all painted a bright white with light gray paint on the walls. I kept and repainted the wood mantel, laid new gray ceramic tile in the hearth from Ann Sacks. A ground floor extension to a house in the East Boldon Conservation Area, to provide a generous dining and entertaining room with a striking visual connection to the mature rear garden. This 50 square metre extension thrilled the clients, who wanted a large space to host parties that could spill out to the connected patio and garden. Photography by Jonathan Mole
