foyer ideas

The front entry would be in white/cream marble tile with a sweeping feature marble railed staircase which splits or otherwise enables views from the front doorway through to the courtyard. It would also be nice to have a mezzanine level landing half way up or at the top of the stair which protrudes out from the landing (possibly as a semi-circle or half an octagon), the 'chess nook.' I have a coffee table and chairs for this nook (I've previously sent photos of these), which would look out through a large window (also semicircular or octagonal) onto the courtyard. We'd have a chess set on the table. Under the stairway/nook would be a cocktail bar. Doorways (not necessarily doors) would open from the foyer to the left to the formal lounge room and to the right to the formal (Michael's) study. The foyer is a 2-storey space at least in part, with a feature chandelier potentially and large windows next to the front door and above the front door on the second level. There would need to be a practical element perhaps either side of the front door where hats, coats, shoes and keys etc could be stored.

chess nook could be a bit like this but the windows would be full length

a freestanding option for the storage needs (would have to be in white)

built in robe for the coats, umbrellas etc

bar under stairs could also go sideways, but preference is probably to back onto the staris if possible

Like the small winerack which could be at the back of the bar (i.e. directly under the stairs)

round bar under a staircase - suggest this is in black to match the stair railing and diamond-shaped joiners in the tiles

this might work for the shape of the staircase, but in the style of the first stair above

Split stair, view beyond, second level view

View beyond the stair and the double height space

LOVE the railing but note it is unique and expensive. Like the doorway treatment.

Love the curve on this stair, the widening lowest steps and the tiles
