Tour a US Kitchen Designer’s Dream Kitchen 10 Years In
In this episode of Houzz TV Live, kitchen designer Sarah Robertson of Studio Dearborn gives a tour of her kitchen in Mamaroneck, New York., USA. For 10 years, while designing kitchens for clients, Robertson filed away ideas and inspiration — first in binders and then on Houzz — for what would one day become her dream kitchen. In 2017 she put everything she’d learned to create a space full of natural light, elegant materials and smart storage features.

nice kitchen very clean and sleek. what hardware was used for cabinets please advise
Thoroughly functional and aesthetically appealing to everyone.
Such a beautiful, elegant home; yet, very lived in. Just stunning..
This space exudes an air of design sophistication and charm. The exhaustive planning was well worth it! I would just love to sit in that space and absorb it section by section. Lucky family to have such a talented member.
I am so in love with this! Would you mind please sharing the floor color and paint color? I am going crazy trying to find colors just like this, there are so many choices I am getting dizzy. I would greatly appreciate it. I love that creamy paint! and those clean but warm floors.
So how often do you clean the windows in back of the stove top and sink?
Lovely big centre pre table! (I'm a bit surprised the fridge is so far away from the sink). So many cupboards - you have to have a good, organized mind to remember where you'd put everything! JUST KIDDING. It truly looks awesome!.
Absolutely stunning, congratulations, the entire space feels so light and welcoming
This space is awesome. It's nice to know, that even though you are a kitchen designer, you had to work on this plan for awhile to get where you wanted it. I labored over my new kitchen too. The functionality is awesome.
Absolutely gorgeous!
Great job!
very cool,beautiful, pretty,clean...
but I think if we want to change colors we clan color the cabinets in pink and the bords in brown, that will be amazing kithchen
and it will be very spacial.
👌👌👌
Functional! Beautiful! Masterful! I enjoyed the tour. You are a pro's pro!
watch the video again. Sarah explains where she found them (London).
LOVE your kitchen! Looked up California Faucets: do you have the Carsano? Also, can you please id the paint color of the cabinetry? Thank you!
Thank you for graciously offering a tour of your kitchen, Sarah. I love the countertops and do think they are gorgeous to look at! I've been considering soapstone for my kitchen remodel, but this might be a better, stronger option while having a similar aesthetic. And I will most definitely be putting a tea drawer in as soon as possible. My tea collection is a mess in the small drawer I have it in now!
Oh - read the paint color in the written story: BM's Light Pewter. Lovely!
HU- 770706726 In the video she says she purchased them in London and then used paint stripper to give them a patina - so basically custom.
Love at first sight!
Love everything about this kitchen and I plan to borrow heavily during my own remodel! Thank you for sharing!
This kitchen exudes elegance and sophistication without sacrificing function or comfort, I love it.
Sarah your kitchen has inspired me. I'm in the process of planning my kitchen remodel so I spend endless hours looking at beautiful newly remodeled kitchens and I have to say yours spoke to me. Thank you so very much for taking us on the tour of your dream kitchen. It's made my dream more of a reality.
Just want to say thanks for your ingenious design. Imho, that kind of care re- maximizing functionality and the use of space goes hand-in-hand with superior aesthetic results.
Beautiful space with a great "feel." The storage solutions are brilliant. Great job!
Can you share more about the metal toe kicks? What material did you use?
Learned a lot from this video as we are in the process of remodeling our kitchen/great room. I'm working on how to design 'outside the (comfort) box' by watching many of these inspirational videos. Please continue to produce them as they are extremely educational for the rest of us. As for this video I love that Sarah uses serving trays etc. on the walls for deco as I now have a few ideas & uses for my mother's things to incorporate for designing our home. thank you!
Stunning! Love all the windows and storage space. Awesome job.
Beautiful kitchen! How do you vent the stove top?
Thank you for sharing your kitchen with us. It is so warm and inviting. What a beautiful job you did... And the paper towel holder is the best!!!
I like the black trim checkerboard windows, or whatever they’re called.
Diagonal pot/pan storage!! Mind blown!!
agreed!!!
I greatly admire and long for this kitchen! I had to go into this woman’s website to look at more of her work. It is all so stunning. Particularly satisfying to me was to discover that a second “favorited” kitchen I have loved looking at and referring to so often, is also hers!
Please tell me there are more Sarah Robertson/Studio Dearborn articles!!!
