Cloud 9 used to be the best for a reasonable price. Your best options unless it's DIY is to try and find a good local carpet retailer. The door bars depend entirely on the style of your house. I have had oak and metal ones. Try and choose one style to use everywhere to avoid that dollhouse effect. A velvet carpet sounds lovely and soft. We have a wool twist pile which does not go well with long cat claws or the occaisonal accident.

I found the best carpet choices at a local independent family run store. The choice was incredible from budget to very high end. Get the best underlay you can afford, it makes all the difference. Some cheap underlay disintegrates over the years leaving horrible dust. I think a cheap polypropylene carpet with good underlay is better than the other way round, or at least that’s what I found.
