Chimney wall in bedroom

Hi
Any ideas on what to do with the chimney wall from the downstairs stove pertruding into bedroom. It has alcoves on both sides which I can work with but just don't know how to hid the chimney wall

You could do swing arm lamps even if you can't recess some shelving. Any chance of a small shelf on front of each wardrobe? Just for wine glass, coffee cup or eyeglasses.

I definitely think some colour on the walls would look great with your monochrome curtains and furniture. I would suggest a relatively soft colour, maybe a duck egg or greyish green colour, nothing too vibrant that will battle with the bold monochrome! I personally don't prefer houses which are papered. Houses which are papered may be difficult to sell. Because once it is papered, it cannot come off. Keep the ceiling white to enjoy good luck. Do not use wallpaper which is mainly black, it is too yin. You may paper the walls if you love it.
