Tiles - help/advice

I have tiles on a window ledge in my cloakroom. Any idea if these can easily be removed or painted?? It appears to be one strip of tiles.

They look like mosiac to me which means they came as a sheet. Have you tried to lift them up? Decide what you want to do first because if you start to remove them you will have to finish the job and retile or cover with a replacement. If you were to paint them what colour were you thinking of because there is a lot of white grout?

No I've not tried to remove. I'm worried it will be more trouble than it's worth! Good point about the grout...I guess if they can be painted it would need to be a light colour.

I've painted a landscape on the wall, wallpapered one and enlarged a photo and had it printed on canvas. There are inexpensive outlets that shoukd have a framed printed landscape too. Just need to keep looking. Kirklands used too, Z Gallery, Homegoods. Or try searching online.

If you want the look in the showroom photo, you need to do all tile in the same direction. If you started with vertical, you need to stick with vertical. It might be a blessing in disguise since it will make your ceilings appear taller. On the floor, make the long end of the tile run with your longest wall.

http://houzz.com/photos/3642990 This link kind of demonstrates the use of mosaics and the mirror idea I thought may be cool. Obviously they are vertical but I think it would work either way. Any pics of your tiles? I have seen your other post and know your suite is 'traditional' but another thing to consider I guess is the cost of the mosaics. £££ using lots may mean a big dent in your budget.

They look very well laid. Removing them won’t be difficult but it would be messy. You could then install a proper window sill and then paint it in satinwood or eggshell, or go for a wooden sill and varnish or oil it. I don’t think painting the tiles would work as it would be an uneven surface and the paint may well start to chip.
