I have a large room with a mid grey carpet, without much natural light Would biscuit beige go with it or too pink? I need to paint a sample first I think... Or i was thinking Dulux Nutmeg white.
I have looked at your suggested colours. Biscuit beige is quite pinkish, is that what you are intending to warm up the room? Which way does it face, and how large are the windows? It also depends on what furniture and other items you are planning. Is the carpet pure grey or does it have any undertones? I think Nutmeg White is safer and you will be happier with it in the long term. It's very neutral and light. Could you supply a pic of the carpet and the room so that we can provide better advice?
Biscuit Beige vs. Dulux Nutmeg White for Your Room:
Biscuit Beige:
Pros: Warm and inviting, adds coziness, bright in low light, pairs well with grey for modern look.
Cons: Some shades can be too pink, needs warm beige to avoid clashing with grey's cool undertones.
Dulux Nutmeg White:
Pros: Bright and airy, maximizes light, neutral and versatile. Cons: Can feel stark/cold in a large, low-light space, might not be as cozy as biscuit beige. Tips:
Consider existing furniture and décor:
Warm tones? Choose biscuit beige. Cool tones? Nutmeg White might be better. Paint large samples in different areas of the room to see how the colour changes with light. Choose the colour that creates your desired mood (warm/cozy or bright/airy).
Additional Colour ideas:
Light greige: Warm and inviting without too much pink, pairs well with grey.
Taupe: Neutral, slightly darker than greige, adds sophistication.
Sage green: Cool-toned, surprising beauty with grey, adds nature and freshness.
Ultimately, the best colour is what you love and feel comfortable with. Experiment with samples until you find the perfect match!
Ii its a commercial space and no furniture planned to go in yet but will eventually. All with neutral tones. One end leads to a dark stone lift lobby and the other to glass doors to a corridor of office space, so no natural light. There will be just one linear light through the long room w3mx L12m x h2.6m
