Footstall help - fabric or buy a new one?

Years ago I should've bought the matching footstall but our budget couldn't stretch, so we thought we'd make do and buy it when we had spare money.... But now it's not available.
I have two matching sofas, this is my smaller one. Should I reupholster this brown footstall, and if so, what fabric? If not, any ideas on an alternative?

Will you be reupholstering the footstool yourself? If you are then do it but if you are having it done professionally you will find it pretty pricey, in fact the same price as a brand new one. Buying a new one that fits with your decor would probably be cheaper. Next and Dunelm sell some nice ones and not too pricey as are Etsy. Footstools & more are a fab company who beautiful, sturdy footstools but are quite expensive.

fragle0 ... congratulations on the new addition to your family. Have been following your lovely changes. You probably won't have time to work on the decor for a while. Just wanted to suggest that you try pulling the nesting tables forward to be more in line with front of the chairs & placing your floor lamp to the back of them. This will give a bit more light at night for reading in that area.Also switching the plant by the fireplace & the one on the corner by the sofa.

Please, please, please, don't paint any of the wood. You have a beautiful setting for mid century modern décor. I can agree with removing the carpet from the stairs, however I would just want to add a jute floor covering for the stairs after. The light fixtures should probably both be changed. You even have a lovely roomy space in your foyer. I always recommend starting with the foundation of the room, which is the floor covering. Kilim, ikat, Persian or Oriental would be my choice. I would think minimalist would be very fitting in this space.

Hi there, How about a very pale blue? I know it's for both a boy and girl but pale blue goes well with pink. If you get a bunk bed which can be split into single beds, then on the girl side you could place metallic gold stickers on the wall or pale pink and on the boys dark blue. You could get polka dot bed sheets pink for the girl, blue for the boy or go completely neutral and go for green. Place a small desk or bedside table with a nightlight on top, maybe get their names on the wall above the bed too, or a shelf on each side with their favourite items on top. So much possibilities. For a budget option, try Amazon and search for footstool slip covers. You might be lucky with a colour that suits.

Charlotte go for it then. There are tutorials on YouTube which may help. Goof luck.
