Need help with bathroom design.
Hi All,
We are now doing an extension and refurbishing parts of the house. The house is currently bare bones as we had to replace the roof tiles, changing the flooring and creating a new bathroom upstairs as our current master is on the ground floor. The new master bath is 8 ft * 8ft and would like to have a bath, shower, storage cabinet, towel rail, wall hung semi pedestal or a bottleneck basin and toilet. We have a large window of 1.1 m. Please advice on a design of the bathroom. Is placing the bath below the window a good idea. The thing between the bath and shower is rail and the it is a cabinet close to the door.

I was contemplating putting a similar light like yours above the cabinet, but decided I prefer lights on either side, as there is a lot of space which I'd like to fill a little. I will also put them on top of tiles, so another point to consider. The ones I had chosen only protrude 90 mm from the wall, so I wonder if they should protrude at least the same as the cabinet, which is 150 mm, to illuminate the face, when putting on make up or in general. Here is a picture of the lights I really liked...and another one in a room situation ( not my bathroom), but they are next to a mirror with minimal depth. Comments (0)I plan on refurbishing our ensuite bathroom. Making shower walk in with one long glass panel and other glass panel with hinged 8" piece. I am still concerned about having a wet bathroom. The width will be 3' x 46" long. The shower head will sit on 3' end. I plan on putting in underfloor heating. Is there enough room at the base of the bath for the toilet and the space required under building regulations?
I think the window is a great feature so I would definitely like to put the bath on this wall. In the quick drawing below I have added the bath there and put boxing to either side which also allows boxing and plumbing to the WC to take it off the window wall and on to the side wall with the basin - this I think looks and feels a little better.
I have then added a towel rail beside the bath and shower, which you can add your hanging rail in front of - or you can extend the size of the shower and put the rail up on the wall.
Another option I looked at was having the toilet directly in front of you on the outside wall and then having a bath wall with a floor to ceiling storage unit which would be helpful, and the a shower, basin and cupboard / towel rail area.
I hope this helps and gives you some more to think about.
