Complete DIY novice here, so apologies for the silly question and using any wrong terminology. I live in a rental property and our bedroom curtain pole fell down the other day, taking one of the wooden wall brackets with it. The bracket had seemed a little lose previously and when it came off the wall it appeared to have a plug and a screw attached to it, but the screw was outside of the plug. Now, im not sure if I did the right thing but i bought some polyfill and patched up the hole, as i figured it would be futule attempting to screw anything back into the existing hole. So firstly id like to ask, was i wrong to do that? and secondly, what do i do now about reattaching the bracket? is it as simple as drilling a hole near the now patched up one?
