Old house Front Hall WINDOW DRESSING
Comments (10)Hi there, First of all, what a lovely space - the floor tiles are a really gorgeous feature! With these windows, it really is up to you. Shutters are fantastic for creating a clean, uncluttered feel, while, as Colourhappy says, a Roman blind is a great way to add a luxurious feel. Both create a classic look that will never go out of style. Alternatively, as you say, curtains are a gorgeous choice. Floor length curtains would create a real sumptuous look, but you may want to consider how this might block your radiator, especially if you intend to open and close them regularly. If you'd like some more inspiration on shutters, curtains or Roman blinds, you might like to have a look at our handy guides here: http://www.hillarys.co.uk/inspiration/2014/09/five-fabulous-ways-to-use-stunning-shutters-in-your-home/ http://www.hillarys.co.uk/inspiration/new-roman-blinds-and-curtains/ Good luck with your project, and make sure you show off that stunning floor!...See MoreBest light gray for a small and very bright living room
Comments (1)Hi, I think any of those 3 could look good, with white elsewhere as a contrast and bringing in some bright warm colours with cushions, throws etc. We repainted our house last year and used Farrow and Ball colours - Elephants Breath is very popular and looks great in our living room, we used their darker greys in our sitting room and hall. You can get Dulux to mix FandB colours so it works out cheaper if you like. I was afraid of it being cold or dark but love it!...See MoreCan anyone recommend exterior house paint colours for my cottage???
Comments (0)Hi, I am having trouble deciding what colour to paint my new home, I would like to keep the cottage / farm feel. I have just started cleaning the roof which turned out to be a red asbestos slate of which im thinking of painting black or slate grey. The window frames are black but i dont really want to go or the standard black reveals/ white house. All ideas welcome. See pictures below: Thanks Martin...See MoreNew window advice
Comments (0)I want to make a new ope for a new window (or more technically a 'light' as I don't want it to open) in a really dark and dingy room that will hopefully brighten it up. I know the kind of Carlson window I need to align with the other there in the room already. But where will I find a builder who would do this kind of small job? Does anyone know a good and reliable builder to knock a hole in the wall make good once the window is installed? Perhaps Carlson do the whole service but I doubt it. Thanks for any advice and recommendations....See MoreHU-92403985
