Any styling advice for a door canopy?

I have just had a new door fitted but unfortunately due to costs i still
have the ugle uvpc door canopy that came with the house! any tips on how i can disguise this/ make it look more stylish till
i can afford a better one. i thought about painting it chartwell green same as the door
but thought that may look odd with white windows? open to suggestions

Comments (56)The trim in your rooms is outstanding. To "tie the rooms together", the one thing I would do is install chair rail the same color as the existing trim. The horizontal lines of chair rail will move the eye around the room and into the next room creating a flow. Comments (25)That is true alright, though even with a patterned carpet they usually keep a mat for people to wipe their feet on by the door, or if people like to remove boots or shoes when entering ( not that common here) but great idea. The trouble with the patterned carpet was if anything fell on the floor you could hardly find it !!...See MoreAdvice on picture windows!
Comments (0)Hi, We're buying a new house and the windows aren't in great shape so we're looking to change them all. It's a 2 story, white rendered, 1980's box shaped house. On the ground floor, there's a front door in the middle of the house. On either side, there's a living room window but the windows aren't exactly the same size (same height, different width). On the 1st floor/top floor, there are 3 equal sized bedroom windows. We'd like to go with a contemporary look for the house and after talking to our window suppliers, we could go with centre top swing windows in Aluclad for the 3 bedroom windows and fixed pane picture windows for the 2 living rooms. So clear glass with no lines or bars across all 5 front facing windows. (NB: Fire regs and ventilation can be covered through smaller windows on the side of the house for both living rooms). I really like the idea of a clear view onto my garden with no lines or bars across the glass and privacy is not a concern as we're well set back from the road. In the computer generated images, the picture windows look really nice but I'm a bit concerned as I have literally never seen this style of window applied to any similar style house!! Even the window supplier had to check it to ensure it could be manufactured that way. I'd really appreciate any advice, suggestions or images of houses with picture windows that they could share? Comments (3)Behind the far left glass panel is a cloakroom and behind the right glass panel I have a piano. (All in my hall ) I am thinking of knocking the cloakroom on the inside and putting a desk and hidden shelving and leaving piano on the right. And knocking a kitchen wall which now means you would see into my kitchen from my front door. I may partition the hall now with a pocket door for privacy. I can give more details if required ... My big dilemma is what style of front door would be great ! I don’t want the door and three panel look again....See More
