Comments (4)Hi Zoe, I think I would have to agree with your sister! The right grey will look warm, whilst giving the room a fresh, clean feel. Farrow&Ball do some lovely ones, have a look at Elephant's Breath or Pavilion Grey. This colour scheme with wooden floors (natural or painted) would look wonderful. Injections of colour could then be added with soft furnishings. Hope this helps!...See MoreShould I paint the floor boards white?
Comments (17)It looks very pretty. I would look at pics of painted floors versus whitewashed and see which you prefer then people can hopefully help with methods. I've used chalk paint but not on a floor. Annie Sloan sell floor lacquer so you don't need to use the wax which is very time consuming to apply, the lacquer can be rollered on. The only thing I would say is that it does not adhere to I think varnish made in the 80's and I find the White paint coverage is poor although not an issue if white washing. I wondered if there was a cheat method using zinsser to avoid sanding if using normal paint and have found this, no idea on how successful it is! http://www.zinsseruk.com/how-to-guide/how-to-paint-woodstained-or-varnished-surfaces/...See MoreShould I put mirror over fireplace or over tv. mirror can only be 95 c
Comments (11)There are a thousand ways to use mirrors beautifully in a living room -- just not any old mirror in any old place, that I would agree with I think you should have art over the fireplace, and I see potential for using a scattering of small mirrors to bring light into the alcove and counterbalance the somewhat awkward angle of the TV. I'm assuming there's nowhere else to put the TV? I agree that the furniture in that corner is rather too flimsy to handle either the size of the TV or the bold black boxes of the fireplace and hearth. How about a striking floor vase? (Just resist the temptation to stick stuff in it.) https://www.etsy.com/listing/158899961/poster-geometric-print-a3-abstract-wall http://www.amazon.com/Classic-Natural-Bamboo-Floral-included/dp/B006O127GY...See MoreLisa T
