This project was completed back in 2010 but it was a tile from Ann Sacks. They were a large format glass tile that came in a matte or gloss.

Thank you so much for your response. I have checked out her website and there are some beautiful tiles.

Don't be swerved away from hand painted tiles! The best way to add colour and originality (I make hand painted tiles so I may be biased). I would take the tiles to just under the bottom shelf, and up to the hod. We have had tiles behind our cooker for 21 years, and we don't find the grout staying clean a problem. By the way - I think subway tiles will look dated in a few years, as anything bang on trend tends to do.

If it was me, I would centre it and only silicone the back. I understand your concerns about water going down the side. Realistically, though, as you will only be washing your hands and maybe teeth in it, there is unlikely to be much water gushing about. To detract from the fact there is not as much space on either side of sink, I would have carpenter either wall mount or put legs on the cabinet so there is space underneath and the unit doesn't look too chunky!

Hi! I'm new to Houzz so I hope I post this correctly. I was set on Silestone Suede Finish ( Ethereal Glow ) for my kitchen countertops. I felt it had a really nice natural stone look. Now I'm having cold feet and wondering if that lack of sheen will make it look like laminate or something. Thoughts? I will be doing a matching backsplash as well. The FIRST TWO photos are to show the type of look I am going for with my kitchen reno (although both photos shows a polished counter finish). Photos #3, 4 & 5 are some examples of Silestone SUEDE. Your input would be most appreciated! Thank you!
