South facing garden furniture layout etc
Hi all!
I'm trying to work out the best layout for garden furniture (dining and sofa/chill area) in our 2 tiered, South facing garden.
We get sun most of the day in both areas but the top section by the garage wall gets the last evening sun so we like to go up that end in the evening for drinks. Sometimes to eat as well (mainly because we don't have a dining table outside yet so it was just a bistro table up there!)
Can i ask opinions on how you would use the garden and what you would put where, for entertaining??
Ie fire pit would be better up top as on old concrete base rather than our limestone patio by the house... But people might prefer the log burner nearer to the house in the evening to access the kitchen etc??
What do you all think?

Comments (2)If you have space, another couch of a complimentary colour to your couch with its back facing the dining room (or an occasional chair there on an angle) would be good. A large rug to tie together the seating and a coloured wall where the existing couch is (be it paint or wall paper or a large artwork) would help make it cosy....See MoreRoom layout - ideas?
Comments (25)Take out sofa, use beanbags and those blow up seats for their friends. Coloured rugs for tumbling and crawling on. Supersoft teddy bear blankets so they can curl up. Add in one of those soft blanket boxes for toy storage and so you have somewhere soft to perch when you are with them. Paper half way up the wall in the wall paper that kids can draw on, so they can decorate in whatever colour they like and you won't mind. A childs lift up desk, bookcase and some crazy lamps in weird colours. Then close the door, collapse on the sofa that you have moved, breathe a sigh of relief and thank your lucky stars that you have another room for the kids to go to. Definately having a dining table on the lower end with some sort of umbrella etc.
Just not sure about the top ie if we put a gazebo up there so people can use it for shelter - but that area also gets the last of the summer sun - we don't really want to block it.
