When you say contemporary style renovation do you mean interior decor? For that there would need to be some photos.
I am afraid it beats me how you can add in an extra bedroom without significant cost unless you simply subdivide the dining room into a tiny bedroom and hall to allow access to the main bedroom in the far corner.
Being an apartment means you're kind of stuck with plumbing and window locations..
I can't see how you could push in another bedroom without sacrificing functional spaces.
All three bedrooms are a decent size right now (and you don't want a bedroom with that massive dining room window). May I ask who the 4th bedroom would be for? Because if for children, consider giving them the master bedroom to share, move the entry door in, so the ensuite becomes a family bathroom.
You are right annabellaamy. There already appears to be a great deal crammed into this apartment but, not knowing the circumstances, I took the easy route and said it would cost a lot which it very likely will to reconfiguration the rooms and as rinked has said there are some things that cannot be changed in an apartment.
To Ann Mohd Yusof: Perhaps if you could tell us some more about what your expectations are. For starters are you already living in the apartment or are you thinking of moving in?
Hello Ann, more info please, is the layout set in stone, already been built?
But I agree with everyone above. But also, the layout is odd, bedroom 3 should have been dining space and so utility would of been a bathroom and or wardrobe storage. In other words sleeping area at one end and living area at the other end. I do not know how construction is in Singapore but if it is just stud walls you can move them. But it depends on your budget. Washing machine and dryer could always be part of kitchen space near Bath WC2 ????
I agree with christineacy. It really is an oddly configurated apartment. Why is there a WC leading off from the kitchen? This would be a better place for the utility and as you say the existing utility would better serve as a second bathroom. I also agree that the bedrooms would be better all together. I had suggested using some of the dining room to create a hall. If Ann did this then there would be three bedrooms and two bathrooms at that end of the apartment. Or four if bedroom 3 continues to be a bedroom. The remaining living quarters would however be quite cramped if there were to be four bedrooms. But again without knowing the circumstances it is difficult to determine a solution.
