These tiles on our kitchen floor?
Comments (8)Hi, We always put a quick note to verify our experience: Brigitte and I have consistently designed between 70-90 kitchens/year for over 34 years..... We've literally designed thousands of kitchens..... We also design/build full structural including below-grade foundation plans..... Anyway, certainly nothing personal, but that tile reminds us of old bathroom tiles/patterns from back in the 40's/50's, not something to put on a large kitchen floor.....Considering that you also have a parquet floor pattern in both adjoining rooms it might really look awful.....As we tell many clients- "don't want to look like we're in Disney World!.....You should be able to buy some of these tiles and lay them out, then return them.....Do it next to the other floors to see the visual.....Hope this helps.....John & Brigitte...See MoreKitchen / dining room curtain dilemma
Comments (2)I think you have 2 choices 1) change paint colour 2) get drapes that have cream, white and black in them something like these I like the print one because it uses what you have but introduces another color to use for accessories etc....See MoreWin a design consultation at The permanent tsb Ideal Home Show!
Comments (74)Hello Houzz Ireland, We are currently renovating a 1960's build - so as you know, there is a lot of decisions to be made!! So it would be nice to get some gems of advice from the experts to help us through this daunting task. Areas where we would really like some inspiration for - small bathroom downstairs. I would really like to do something fun with this room and although small, I think it could work really well with some funky wallpaper or possibly tiles?! I'm just not sure what to do with it. Also - pulling a whole house together?! Where do we start? We have the bigger pieces of furniture but how do I know what nest of tables goes best with a suite? Or what accessories will bring a room together? I'm due a second baby in 2 weeks time so any help at this stage would be so amazing - to guide me on the right interior design path for our new house. Thanks, Laurie...See MoreBathroom vanity unit too small for space
Comments (5)If it was me, I would centre it and only silicone the back. I understand your concerns about water going down the side. Realistically, though, as you will only be washing your hands and maybe teeth in it, there is unlikely to be much water gushing about. To detract from the fact there is not as much space on either side of sink, I would have carpenter either wall mount or put legs on the cabinet so there is space underneath and the unit doesn't look too chunky!...See MoreSamn85
