bedroom decoration in new build

I have an odd shaped bedroom with an ensuite and wanted ideas of what people thought i could do in this space? It is a new build so is plain at the moment with limited features but I am stuck due to the shape and window positioning. I've attached a picture of the bedoom for reference (Im no artist so dont judge!!!).

Hi!

What a great blank canvas you have to play with here. I think ultimately with the space you have, they way the bed and wardrobe is positioned is probably the best route for you.

What I would do is try to think about what you could do with that chest of drawers - do you need the drawers for storage space, (could what currently you have in there go elsewhere?) or is it mainly for somewhere to place your TV?

What I would suggest is thinking about a nice feature on the wall where your bed is - a lovely big headboard with colour and texture or some kind of wood panelling on that wall (classic style or something a bit more rustic).

it also looks like you have space either side of the bed? Could you get some matching bedside tables that have a few drawers of storage to replace the chest of drawers? This will create some symmetry in the room, especially if you dress these with matching lamps, perhaps with 2 slimline mirrors behind them to reflect some light around the room.

I would suggest getting a wall bracket to hang the TV against the same wall, with a shelve or two in that area. If budget permits, you could have a lovely slim-line unit built on that wall so you can still have the storage that you need below, and the TV can be neatly tucked in with a surround at the top.

In terms of decoration I would use the black in the wardrobes to place pops of more black through-out the rest of the room (assuming you are keeping those?) - I'm thinking the blinds would be a great area to add a bit of structure and interest to the room, something like this but with a black coloured border?

Once you have those basics you will be free to use some colour and textures to show off your personality a bit more :)

Everything does seem rather grey and plain, so adding colour or texture with cushions and a throw will help. Grey loves orange or yellow. You can stick with the neutral theme if you prefer but add shade and light to stop it looking flat. Great that the headboard is dark. Bedside cabinets/tables in a warm or dark wood with lamps on would dress the room, as would wall art. I’m also thinking how about a deep colour on the wall behind the bed, say charcoal grey or navy? Here are some ideas

I would also definitely go white if the windows are on the green wall. Will be much more natural to tie the accent wall with the stark wht contrasting walls. Always a very chic contemporary look. Also very relaxing as opposed to the treatments standing out when you already have your standout feature- the green accent wall. Great white bed you ordered! Then I love all the blue/green/ silver accent advice. I did a similar room in purples/greys/ whites and we used great posted prints of florals with a little oriental flair in nice big mats w frames. You could do florals or nice big botanicals in greens would be very fresh and modern!! White or silver frames or maybe even the shock of black would be cool.

Hi. I'm not that keen on the paper with the rest of the room, it doesn't look bad at all but it doesn't look stunning either imo. Everything else looks to be more of a greige? I'd look at the same paper in truffle, sable, dark linen or even the pewter may work ( hard to tell colours on screen so would get samples of all!). I agree with the others, would go for plain bed linen and add pattern in cushions and/ or throw. It looks as if a chalk pink would work best with the greige. Maybe a chalky white for the remaining furniture. You could also break up the window ŵall by adding a trim and maybe Pom poms to the bottom of the blind. A little antique gold for accessories, lights etc would also work well.

Cornforth white is one of my go-to colours, matched with a Grey carpet will look stylish and chic. Pairing these with Blush tones and a muted metallic Chrome / Gold or Copper would look perfect. Gold and Brush Steel tend to stand the test of time so either would be a great addition. A bespoke Headboard would make this space elegant and mature.
