Wardrobe for loft conversion

We have recently bought a new house with a loft conversion but it is quite an awkward shape with an oversized en-suite.
We want to make it our master bedroom but can’t figure out where/how to fit wardrobes considering we also have a king size bed with a headboard too high to go against the eaves.

The eaves slope quite soon after you enter the room so I don’t think the right hand wall nearest the stairs would work.

Do we use a chunk of the en-suite? Or can we create a walk in wardrobe somehow?

I would take down the wall between the bathroom and bedroom, make the bathroom smaller and have a wall of wardrobes with a secret entrance to the bathroom.

We have just done this to two of our en-suites, one using ikea kitchen metod plain cupboards, and the other with a sliding door wardrobe. Both look fabulous. It squares up the room, allowing an huge amount of storage that we wouldn’t have got with a door to the side. It also feels quite magical have a secret entrance to the bathroom.

In our loft conversion, we have the bed against the back wall (so the wall opposite your door going into the bedroom) and then we created walk in wardrobes in front of the eaves and then from the back of the wardrobe is the entrance to the eaves like in your picture. Would this layout work? As there is only the measurements of the room itself, I can't tell if you have the room for this?

Depending on how much work you wanted to do:

Option 1: move the bathroom under the eaves to give you more of a well proportioned room.

Option 2: Build a false half wall in front of the french doors/windows at the far end and move the wall of the ensuite back to give you more walk around the bed. See below what i mean of half wall we installed recently. Would then look at put builtin wardrobes on the "under eaves storage"wall.

Thanks! Yeah I tried to rotate the bed so the headboard would be opposite the radiator but it meant the wardrobe doors wouldn't open. I may need to change the bed frame to include storage space alright but it would need to add height not width which is tricky to find ready made. I like the idea of a loft bed but since it's rented I don't think I could really do anything that involves attaching to walls...

DO NOT USE DRUNK TANK PINK FOR A ROOM! Sorry, Groveraxle, but further down in the site you linked to it said, "Prisoners did respond and calmed down, as hoped, initially. There's a couple of dressing room projects - with plans - on my pro page that might give you some ideas ! http://houzz.com/pro/oneplan In smaller rooms it's sometimes easier to have open wardrobes - ie no doors - it doesn't look as neat - but you don't have to leave room for door swing - so effectively - you can get more in usually !!!

We have considered moving the en-suite under the eaves but as the windows are positioned as they are, I think we would need to use all of the eaves. Also the pipe work would need moving which seems like a big job? We would then knock out the en-suite and have a longer wider space though.

I’m not sure if the wardrobes would work well on our eaves with the windows?

I think you could potentially have a wardrobe on the wall opposite the stairs but would probably need to be a fitted one to work with the eaves.. also depends on the distance between the wall and the window, as that would be the depth of your wardrobe

Unfortunately eaves walls to velux is only about 400mm so I don’t think that space will work.

Thank you Suzanne, that looks amazing and such a good idea.
I think that may be our best idea, would only give us around 2500 of wardrobe but it looks like the most space effective job.

Hi Laura, if you just use the wardrobes as hanging space and also have shelves and chest of drawers elsewhere that that may be enough to play with. You would need 600-800mm space for access to the bathroom. Message me if you would like to see what I have done in my place.

Pics would be really useful.

Just a couple of options if you could push the wall back on the oversized En-Suite

This one creates a dressing area behind a false wall, so quite practical.
