why on earth carpets in bathrooms were ever considered a good idea is beyond me!

Overall fairly happy, but In hindsight we picked the wrong colour for the walls, as the grey is very blue in the daylight. We also received the wrong splashback but didn't realise until after it was on... So we will be replacing the splashback and repainting the walls in next few months.

Thanks, good luck with it! We felt that it used the space a bit more rather than just having the furniture arranged along the walls. I like the look of the free-standing bath in the corner (something i had seen on houzz!) and it seemed logical to us with the lay out of our bathroom as to have it fully away from a wall would take up valuable space so the corner seemed the perfect compromise... behind the bath provides handy hide-away storage ;)

Thanks Claire, I like free standing baths too, just not sure about the extra space this will take up.

I hear you on the abomination that is carpets in the bathroom. In our first flat, there was carpet not only in the bathroom but also in the kitchen 0_0 . The horror, the horror.

I think your refurb looks great.

In the pictures the walls don’t look blue but I realise colours look different in different lighting and from different angles etc.

I can‘t see a splashback, or am I missing something?

In the 70’s the carpet came up the sides of the vanity unit and surrounded the raised lip of the vanity sink! Now that’s class to clean!
