If you want the look in the showroom photo, you need to do all tile in the same direction. If you started with vertical, you need to stick with vertical. It might be a blessing in disguise since it will make your ceilings appear taller. On the floor, make the long end of the tile run with your longest wall.

The unit pictured is 1990mm wide, made from solid Ash with a mitred Quartzstone worktop. The cost would be around £2500 not including taps.
