Extension to orangery

We are in the process of buying a semi which has had an extension put on the back, so it’s got an original reception room at the front, an original reception room in the middle, then an extension on the back

The problem being with this is the original middle room is very dark, as the room only opens into the extension by the equivalent of a double door and the extension ceiling is lower than the original home

I’m trying to think of how to get more light into that middle room, I was wondering if it’s possible to change the extension to an orangery? Has anyone any experience of this?

    A picture would help. What aspect is the extension?

    We have a glass roof on our open plan kitchen diner, loads of light! If you could put up a plan and post some pics it would be easier to help.

    If you have a flat roof, maybe a sky lantern would work for you.
