fireplace dilema
Comments (9)I must admit I don't like it either, sorry.. Given the resurgence of mid century design you can probably sell it (or store it for next owner). I'd ring a salvage yard or try ebay. I don't know a lot about the 50s but it would appear tiled fireplaces were the style (I thought there were a lot of brick ones but apparently not!) but most people removed or had no fireplace. If you want to retain character I would suggest getting a really contemporary one rather than a fireplace from another period but that may just be me! Lovely room though...See Morei have two brick coloured sofas with floral curtains with brick and go

Comments (2)It feels bland because floors and walls are beige. (ish). If you want to make a statement about a room. contrasting shades work really well. You have spotlights so the south aspect is irrelevant. Put a dimmer on spots if not already there so you control the light and feel of a room. I presume the fire is staying there so that back wall would be perfect for TV to be put on/entertainment system. Corner couch facing tv wall with chaise lounge on fire side. Behind the corner or L shaped couch, table and chairs so the room is functional for entertaining also and the layout is proportional. The room also has a focal point (TV)...See MoreHELP....Kitchen Dilema:(:(:(
Comments (0)Our kitchen was fitted today and we are delighted with the design BUT so disappointed with the colour. It looks peach instead of beige.....it is a very bright room and the light seems to be playing a big part. Colour is Dulux Pale Mink. Any suggestions for wall colour that may tone down peach? At the moment it is cream but I think it now needs a darker colour. Any advice would be so appreciated? Extremely disappointed and at a loss at what to do. Re-spraying is an added expense that we don't need!...See Moreminnie101
