large mirror above bath, yay or nay?

We are just about to install our master en-suite bathroom. It was originally the main stairwell, hence the large window.
We have bought our bath and plan to put a bathroom chandelier above it to give it that wow factor.
We need to design a little stud dwarf wall to put behind the bath to put the taps on it.
So the question is, do we put a wall to wall large mirror on the wall behind the bath or not, will it be tacky or a wow factor?
(We have plans to put blinds on the window as a privacy factor too!)

Comments (20)HI -- Well the wallpaper was just done so there is no changing that , soooo I think you should paint the rest of that wall the same white as the white background of the wallpaper and paint fireplace mantel too. Then have two small matching cabinets painted the blue from the paper or the leaf color placed on each side of the fireplace. . Then have white or glass shelves above , maybe three is best . Now the rest of the room painted the exact color of your sofa . Because the room looks small I think it would look best to have the sofa blend into the walls color wise. Now just keep some of your room accents in the blue color but not too much. Remember not to clutter the shelves and if you don't want the shelves then have a large painting on each side and have a big round mirror over the mantel and keep the small items off the mantel and onto the side cabinets ....See MoreNeed help updating bathroom
Comments (21)My understanding: You didn't find any problem functionally, but you feel this looks old & need some brightness & change in this. My advise: 1). Remove towel rod, shift it next to tub or behind closet & have full length mirror, which will make your space double & reflect natural light as well thus makes the space more bright. 2). Get couple of plants (small plants or bush type or creepers which doesn't occupy much space on floor but grows vertically). 3). Get some artifacts made from bright colored glass, can flower vase or wall hangings or glass tiles etc, these can be of yellow or Bright Orange color these are to be hung on walls opp to mirror or pasted(3M tape both side glued) if you are using tiles. 4). Get a mat of same color as artifacts & place between tub & closet. these all are easily done by yourself. OR if you can afford to then replace only green tiles & floor tiles if you wish to OR all tiles....See Moreneed help with new wet room tiles

Obviously they are vertical but I think it would work either way. Any pics of your tiles? I have seen your other post and know your suite is 'traditional' but another thing to consider I guess is the cost of the mosaics. £££ using lots may mean a big dent in your budget....See MoreSuzanne C

4 years agoPlastering about to start next week in the bathroom, we have scrapped the idea of tiles, mirrors or a mural and we are going for a painted wood panel effect with a stone shelf on a dwarf wall. Similar to this picture below...
