I have 2 companies came to give me quotes for my house windows. I have a few that are one piece fixed glass. One company said they use single 10cm thick glass and the other company say 2 pieces of glass 1 is 4cm then 16cm gap then 4 cm glass. is there a difference in insulation..dust ..noise etc ? which is better ? Or is there not much difference ?
Have you had your windows installed yet as this question was posted a year ago?
I am aware that double glazing has gas inbetween to help block some of the noise and insulate. But, over time, the gas disappears making it just like any ordinary single glazing with none of the extra benefits it orginally intended to have.
In the long term, 10cm thick glass sounds a better choice.
