Help with finishing touches please..

Hi everyone, I posted here last week but got no replies so would be really grateful for some advice. We recently bought this headboard and and curtains from a local shop (got them specially made) I cant decide what bedside lockers/ tables would suit. i dont like white or mirrored lockers. Also need help with lighting and a throw. Seriously starting to doubt my choice now especially the curtains. I think they could be too bling and I'm after spending a fortune already. all advice welcome.

Just a quick note to thank you all for sharing your thought, ideas, experience and time. I especially want to thank Bluenan and decoenthusiaste for being with me through the all process for the last 6 months or so..., just wanted to post few photos of the results (https://www.houzz.com/discussions/any-ideas-for-final-touches-to-this-living-dinning-room-dsvw-vd~569586) as I feel it is not only me who created this space but it is your creations as much as mine. It may not be perfect or according to the the "Rules", but it is Me and my family. Each and every piece was chosen by me in different parts of the world and each one of them has a unique story behind. I am very pleased with my space. I love it! I am very blessed. .... and so I am off to my new project now... Back to school.... that's really going to be hard ;) Thank you all, once again.

The trim in your rooms is outstanding. To "tie the rooms together", the one thing I would do is install chair rail the same color as the existing trim. The horizontal lines of chair rail will move the eye around the room and into the next room creating a flow. Chair rail is relatively inexpensive, easy to install and would be wonderful compliment to your existing beautiful trim.

you know what? my house is not traditional, and yet, i somehow managed to buy an oriental rug for my living room (as you can see from my photo) i've seen so many wonderful oriental rugs, it took me a little while to choose. but my problem was, i was looking online. finally, i just went into a store with my husband, and we chose together. there are thinner ones and thicker. so depends what you want/need. i went for thicker. because these rugs have several different colors in them, i think you can choose from quite a selection and not be too worried. me personally, get nervous with too much light colors, as i have a dog. but the great thing with these rugs, you can barely see any dirt or marks (if any?) i think they have good choices and prices at boundary-mills and costco. i do understand also, about you not being sure cos of your patterned sofa. don't over think. i have seen soooo many pictures of people just going for it and mixing patterns. i know you can find some on houzz. i'll have a look, too. my living room even has some tartan in the curtains. one sofa is solid and the other two have stripes ha and i think it works with my rug. MAYBE, take a picture of your sofa. go to a shop with the rugs and put the photo against the rug and imagine. as for the 3 photos you showed, i like the creamer one and darker one.

A level patio area is always a good idea in a garden for somewhere to put table and chairs on. A practical path to the shed is especially useful when the grass is wet, it stops too much mud being trampled inside. Big pots on the patio filled with flowers or herbs would be a nice touch. They need to be big so the kids can't knock over them easily. Toysrus sell these rubber garden mats to put under play equipment. It has holes in them so the grass can grow through and it stops the kids turning the bit under the swing into a muddy pit. I have them at them around my kids' slide too. Our garden only had a 3 foot chain link fence around it, so I had a 6 foot wooden one put in front of it to stop the kids escaping.(this was because the neighbours owned 2 of the fences.)
