Need help picking backsplash tiles and wall paint colours
Comments (9)Thank you for your suggestions and ideas! I love some of the more daring/colourful ideas, but I don't think I'm, personally, bold enough to go with such a contemporary look. I'm going to stick to a traditional/modern style and use large (4" x 8") white subway tiles and dark grey grout. I'm thinking of using a dark grey paint around the kitchen walls and then a lighter shade around the rest of the room, with maybe the dark grey on the wall behind the TV too. Will be a few more weeks before that's all done, but I'll post a picture when I eventually get there. Thanks again!...See MoreHi all, love love Houzz .. Need help picking out a contemporary blind
Comments (4)What is your budget? I am partial to blinds from Lutron that provide privacy and a view and have battery operated controls for automated operation for retrofits but they are pricy. Hunter Douglas has a fabulous selection of window coverings and then there are always options such as JC Penny's. As for color and style, I suggest you establish a budget and then investigate options in your price range, this will narrow down your search considerably....See Moreneed help with curtain colour
Comments (39)Window shopping and lots of online browsing.! .haven't purchased anything yet!. Just getting house back in order after painting! I have put back the red/winey curtains that I previously had up...convinces me more to go with a neutral colour. The walls are rich Taupe but with a slight grey hue off them so I think the bottom left above actually might work. I have bedding very similar so I took them out and held up and think it would look very nice. Purple isn't a theme in my house (although I do have one bedroom painted purple/lilac) My sitting room is white red black and silver and living/kitchen room is tan and red. I want a rug that wont show up the dirt that much...I live in the country side and have lots of dirty feet coming in so I cant go for any rug that is too light in colour...See Moreneed help for finishing touches for my attic conversion
Comments (30)DO NOT USE DRUNK TANK PINK FOR A ROOM! Sorry, Groveraxle, but further down in the site you linked to it said, "Prisoners did respond and calmed down, as hoped, initially. Major goof: If they hung around too long, they became even more violent." Some police depts. have a pink room, but are cautioned not to let anyone remain in it more than 1 hour. It's called the rebound effect. I read about this while working for a state police agency....See Moreguta83
