Skylight placement

We’re putting a side return on our house, and the initial drawings from our architect show 6 skylights in distinct blocks.

Would we be better spreading them out to spread light, or sticking with this arrangement with a large block above the table position?

I think it looks good. You could always go for two larger ones letting more light in over the kitchen diner and one large one over the lounge area.

But as they are drawn will be easier to install lighting over the dining table ! Looks good as the architect has drawn it on my view.

This layout helps zone the space. But I agree, there seems to be lots of roof lights for the space. You could opt for fewer larger skylights if you want to reduce the slightly cluttered look on your ceiling
