It depends on what type of lamp is in the fixture. I used to run into this issue occasionally working at a lighting showroom. The answer can be as simple as making sure you use a light bulb with the correct voltage. No need to change wires, etc. Bulb just needs to be the same voltage to be compatible...this is typical for your standard incandescent light bulbs like an A-lamp...or Edison lamp. This is NOT going to be the case if you have low voltage fixture a transformer involved. In that case you would have to change out the transformer to one capable of handling a different voltage load. Stick with line voltage fixture, and simply making sure the bulb you use has the right voltage, it's a pretty simple fix.

Hi Lisa, nice sofa. I had a red sofa for 10 years and loved it ( though mine was fabric) I've changed the kitchen/ living room and it stuck out like a sore thumb. I gave in and put in a grey leather sectional one and I must say it's much easier to decorate around. Are you in Ireland? Have you heard of the 1933 company, they have very nice suites. Red makes a big statement! Just my 2 cents worth, good luck!

Depends upon how well the fireplace draws and how close to the firebox you plan to put the mantle. Limestone is very porous and not easily cleaned, and stone can't be cleaned with harsh chemicals. You might be just as happy with a white wood mantel with a good sealer on it that can be wiped clean.
