stone and fireplace question

Beautiful work! I’m curious which stone brand and colour you went with as well as the manufacturer of the fireplace. Is this a double sided wood fireplace to the outdoors or porch? If so, how does it perform in our Canadian climate? Thank you

Thank you! I am not sure who the manufacturer of the fireplace is and can't comment about the unit's performance. We were not involved in the fireplace installation. Only the stone finish. The stone that we used was called Thin Cut, Webwall by Canada Stone but that particular colour does not seem to be available anymore. I hope you can talk her out of that. The walls are beautiful and there will be glue to remove and a price to pay if you ever want to go back. Most people are removing their paper not putting paper up. Many houses have dated paneling and don't look this nice around the fire place. I still think the middle area would look good grey to match the grey around the opening of the fire place. It would look like a visible chimney. I do like lofts/ industrial looks so this appeals more to me than some people. Show her pictures of red brick walls in loft studios and what they are doing with colors on the interior walls and she can get ideas of what color she wants. This probably sounds odd to you but I l like the dirty spot on the bricks. I wish some pros would weigh in.

Hi Zoe , I had to take a second look to make sure this wasn't my photo! I have the same fireplace frame and our mirrors are similar! You have great taste ;) I can't offer any advise I'm afraid, but I'll be watching closely to see if something can be done. I wondered if it was possible to sand it down and paint it white or cream maybe, but the silver pieces may pose a problem. I'm tired of mine too. Here's hoping for some inspiration....

I have a large stone fireplace that goes from floor to ceiling that has a large stone mantel and two ston shelves above the mantle. I have no idea how to best dress it as in candles, mirror, art. any ideas would be appreciated.
