Decorating a small master bedroom

Hello all! I am just buying my first home, and it turns out the previous owners were DIYers, but most of the jobs were only completed halfway. We ended up having to remove a lot of their efforts because we couldn't match any of the materials. There is one feature that was fairly close to finished; a rustic wood wall in the master bedroom. I like this feature and would like to keep it, but am struggling to figure out what type of lighting would work best in a small room, while balancing out the rustic nature of the wall. The bedroom is small, and doesn't have a huge amount of space for my furniture, but it should all fit alright. I will have some room for floor lamps, maybe some space for table lamps, and have hard-wiring for one overhead fixture which is currently a fan, but it has some issues with its wiring so it may be taken out. I want the room to have plenty of light, without taking away what little space I do have left. I have thought about some pendant lighting, but am unsure if it would be able to provide enough light in the room. Any suggestions, ideas, or recommendations are welcome! Thank you! looks like a lot of natural light come in tere. and overhead light will provide plenty of light, get bedside lamps that are reading lamps so they direct the light where you need it. I think you maybe overthinking the lighting a bit.

Here's what I've found after living in and visiting many tract homes- LR-13x18 FR-12x16 (and that they not be in the middle of the traffic flow pattern aka many tract homes post ww2 till about the late 50's) Kitchen (no eating area) 9x11 DR/Nook or other eating area 10x10 Entry-at least 3'6" wide 4' better Bedrooms (good design would at least provide 2 good bed walls aka no doors or windows in it) MBR-12x13 w/ at least 10 linear feet of closets All other bedrooms-10x10 with at least 5 linear ft of closets all closets 2' deep, Baths-5x8 but 5x9 better if fixtures lined up on one wall and tub/shower at end 7x8 and 8x8 with the tub/shower fully accessible if it's 5 ft long 6x8 if it's a 3' shower (fixtures lined up on 2 opposite walls). If you look and many floor plans the best ones will have all of this. Note that square footage does not have to be a lot-ciculation/flow between rooms helps this.

Your window is a main accent. And you need to make a start from its. I recommend you to do the follow: - open your window as much as possible. This will make the room larger; - decorate the window by asymmetrical or direct curtain (examples are below), starting right from the ceiling. It is best to use a solid color textile; - if your cabinet is not particularly necessary, I would have replaced it on the floor lamp; - on the other side, you can fold the high stack of books and use them as a decorative stand; - make a picture in passe-partout with glass and dark gray baguette frame. Add to it a vertical series of small monochrome photographs (eg sepia), and also complete passe-partout in pastel tones; - fur pillows should be replaced by textile pillows with dark gray graphic pattern; - it will be better the other pictures on the walls to remove

Hello Emma, What about if you were to have the study room as a study/bedroom... You can buy beds that slide out from behind a book case or shelves for example.. A double would fit and then why not consider making the walk in wardrobe slightly smaller in favour of a dual access En suites.. If you were to divide the room in half.. Have sliding doors from both sides ie current side and from study side.. You can divide the slightly bigger en-suite room and situate a small shower, back to wall loo and small wall hung sink in both sides.. With back to back plumbing. Then you can sell the property on with the idea of two possible bedrooms.. or as a study with it's own shower room for guests that stay on occasion... Small bathrooms can be just as spectacular as spacious ones, but at any rate it gives you more options as there is a full sized bathroom anyway.. : ))

I would love for help deciding how to creat additional wardrobe space in this master bedroom. There is a small walk in wardrobe but I have an idea to introduce a full wall of wardrobes and make one of the wardrobes a hidden door to the en-suite / walk-in wardrobe. Is that a terrible idea? Any suggestions welcome! Need lots of storage

Hard to tell because this is not your furniture. In general I would say that you need a great, tall headboard, to balance the wood on the wall, and tall bedside tables.
