Comments (22)If you have a Lowe's nearby, take a look at the Pergo Driftwood Pine Laminate Flooring (top photos.) Even though it has a rustic, beach house feel, I love the color. It's a silvery/white/taupe (for lack of a better description) and that would be striking with your wall color, white bedding and black/brown bed. Comments (8)With the wood trim, and a white crown . .. I think the duvet color scheme wants white painted skirting and window / window sill. Then, try a softer violet on the accent wall .. .since both the red or the blue could coordinate with that but otherwise we have opposites - As a backdrop, violet can be nice with gray and white. Here, the wood provided a gold element that was sort of helpful with the blue but will clash with where you are going.. Well apart from colour i guess one would have to conisder how easy they are to clean with stains and all. Comments (10)Some great advice there! I guess I'm trying to create a comfortable elegant feel/mood to the room. It is a child-free house, so I don't have to worry about little hands marking the fabric, but I do take the point on board - will consider darker fabrics. I do like the eames style chairs, and I will look into them in more detail, although I think I prefer the idea of a soft seat, rather than a hard one. One of my main concerns was in relation to the style/finish of the chair legs.....I love the legs on the table, so I want a chair that will complement the table. Is there any particular style of chair leg I should avoid? Or finish (wooden leg v chrome leg)? Karen: I'd be interested to see which chair you went for! 6 years agoI have a similar colour armchair and I went with a good quality laminate with grey tones (I copied I wood I saw but couldn’t afford!) really love it. Also if you ever change the colours of your sofas you won’t have to change the floor! Your room is lovely

6 years agoHi Chris, the colour scheme in your room is lovely and cosy and I think a wood or wood-effect laminate floor would really help to add to the welcoming feel. I'd suggest a neutral shade washed in cool ashen tones for a relaxed space or a warmer, richer colour if you'd like to create more contrast. Here are some ideas:

Your scheme reminds us of @design_at_nineteen on Instagram. In their home they used our Silverleaf herringbone which has a subtle limed finish to bring texture to the room.
