Feeling GRAY! Paint help needed!

Need help completely changing color scheme of our newly purchased home! Can I get away with BM Gray Owl or do I need a warmer gray like SW Agreeable Gray or Repose Gray. Our old home had the white kitchen and gray throughout. Although we cant change cabinet and granite color for awhile...still want a complimentary gray for the cabinets. They arent as orange as in pic...somewhat of a light maple with glaze. Also is a darker gray suggested for morning room? Your advice is greatly appreciated!! This girl is losing her mind with grays!!

Depressing Prison Gray does not suit that lovely warm home.

Ix-nay on any gray--warm or cool--with those beautiful wood floors. You are very lucky. Don't ruin what other people would kill to have in their homes.

Thank you for your suggestions and ideas! I love some of the more daring/colourful ideas, but I don't think I'm, personally, bold enough to go with such a contemporary look. I'm going to stick to a traditional/modern style and use large (4" x 8") white subway tiles and dark grey grout. I'm thinking of using a dark grey paint around the kitchen walls and then a lighter shade around the rest of the room, with maybe the dark grey on the wall behind the TV too. Will be a few more weeks before that's all done, but I'll post a picture when I eventually get there. Thanks again!

I think you should consider houssaon's idea of painting it the same color as the walls. Is the top of the tv console painted wood or is it a stone or composite? In the pictures my ipad shows me speckles (not dirt!!). My ipad sometimes *lies* to me. :) If the gray is the prominent color in the paint, maybe a darker gray would be a good choice too. If you are happy with the gray/green color next to your bookcases, then you should be able to pick a gray that would look good with both the new paint, and the bookcase. Gray next to the fireplace shouldn't be a problem :)

I would go for a stone colour so not too dissimilar to what you've got. Little Greene does a good stone colour too but will work out a bit expensive. This is Oxford stone by farrow and ball. If you were doing the windows and front door then maybe an old white with door and windows in french grey

Hi, I need some advice on what colour I should paint my family bathroom. It has dark grey floor tiles, freestanding shower, bath and wash basin with with the same grey tiles behind. It has a mahogany brown window and window still with frosted glass. It is painted Farrow & Ball Lichen Green. It's very dark and I need to brighten it up all suggestions very welcome. Thank you.

I’d consider other colors ....warmer shades of white or do you like any other colors? What colors are in the countertops... hard to tell from the picture.

I prefer color through accessories rather than wall color. Although the dining room I will make a statement color. The granite is white, gray, beige, and perhaps a slight touch of maroon.

My previous home had warm wood tones much like yours- you have a gorgeous backdrop to work with! I used Benjamin Moore Muslin. Great off-white neutral with a mild warm tone without being too beige or yellow. I also agree that gray is not going to work well.

What a beautiful home.

I am not a grey fan. Especially not in this wonderful home full of wood tones.

You are going to need area rugs to tone down the floors. The cabinets don’t bother me at all…kind of a mustard with a brown glaze.

B.M. Moonshine for the kitchen walls.

Thank you for your suggestions. I like this color palette very much! Yes area rugs are a must to tone it down. As you can see, they replaced carpeted areas with the acacia flooring but kept the old Bruce floors. I have an area rug very similar to the one you shared as well. Thank you again!

Try a sample of BM Ballet White.
